Ude oko chukwu demands more ICAN study centre in abia

Abia state deputy governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu has used the opportunity of visit of the 55th President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Nazi Nnamdi Okwadigbo to consider the establishment of more study centers in the state for the training of ICAN students.

Sir Oko Chukwu who made the demand call when he received in audience the 55th National President of the Institute, Mazi Nnamdi Okwadigbo and his executives on a courtesy visit at Govt House Umuahia, lamented that the shortage of solid study centers and facilities in Umuahia which he noted has taken great tolls in the training of qualified accounting students in the state.

The Deputy Governor who is also a member of the ICAN expressed delight with the cooperation and collaboration existing between state administration and assured that more of their members will be engaged in the administration and headship of some strategic positions in the state as well as assist in actualising the building of their state secretariat.

He described himself as very lucky to have witnessed the elevation of two sons of Abia State as ICAN Presidents, first during his tenure as the Speaker of the State House of Assembly and now as the Deputy Governor, describing as very remarkable and congratulated the National ICAN President ,Mazi Nnamdi Okwadigbo and wished wishing him a successful tenure.

Earlier In his speech, the leader of the delegation and President of ICAN, Mazi Nnamdi Okwadigbo said he was in the state to honour an invitation from the Umuahia and District Society of ICAN and thanked the Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu for being a worthy ambassador of ICAN and for all his efforts in projecting the institute in good light in the state.
