Sterling Bank calls for environmental cleanliness

The Branch Manager of Sterling Bank, Umuahia Branch, Abia State, Mr. Henry Onwuchekwa, has called on well-meaning Nigerians to cultivate the habit of maintaining a clean environment.

Onwuchekwa who stated this recently during the bank’s clean up exercise at the isi-gate axis, Umuahia, stated that as an institution, they are committed to environmental sustainability to physically impact on communities by cleaning different locations across the country ,as well as create awareness against the risk dirt poses in the communities.

“It is the branch’s belief that living by example will encourage other institutions and residents to follow suit”, he said.

The Bank manager further added that as a bank, they also understand and believe that working in a clean environment will help people do their businesses properly.

He charged all and sundry including institutions to endeavour to make out time to clean their working environment as living in a healthy environment is essential.

“Key in, join Sterling Bank staff, make out time to clean your environment and the city you operate in, participate in social corporate responsibility and give back to the society”, Onwuchekwa added.

Sterling bank boss commended the governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, for his understanding of the importance of a healthy and clean environment, while pleading that he implements like refuse bin dumps,among others, needed for the Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA) ,to help facilitate them in the discharge of their duties, as a clean environment and city says well for the State.
