We have a Divine call to service – Abia Dgov

Abia state deputy governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu has said that his investiture into the fourth degree of the order of the Knights of St Mulumba (KSM) and the reaffirmation of the victory of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu by the election petition tribunal were indication of their call for more services to God and humanity.

Sir Oko Chukwu assured that in furtherance of this call, they are committed to the advancement of the state to greater heights and the propagation of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Sir Oko Chukwu stated these at the investiture of over 300 members knights into the fourth degree of the order of the Knights of St Mulumba (KSM) Nigeria, at the Owerri Metropolitan Command of the order.

He expressed gratitude to God for the elevation to the next level, describing it as significant, coming on the heels of the revalidation of their mandate which confirmed the popular will of the entire Abians to trust their destiny into Okezie Ikpeazu/Oko Chukwu ticket and assured that by the grace of God, the governor’s lofty visions to transform the state would bear fruits.

The Deputy Governor who was investitured alongside his wife, Lady Vivian Oko Chukwu reaffirmed that the event calls for double celebration and used the opportunity to called on the opposition and other Abians irrespective of party leanings to join forces with the present administration to take Abia to an enviable height.

Earlier in his homily, the Worthy Supreme Chaplain of the Order, the Very Rev. Monsignor Pius Kii challenged the newly invested Knights to live up to their calling as followers of Christ by shunning all forms of pride, hypocrisy, impatience and actions that are not in tandem with their calling and prayed God to grant them the Grace to live up to their new positions.

Also speaking, some of the investiturees including, the Executive Director, Bank of Agriculture, Prof Joe Okenwa, a retired Permanent Secretary and former Director of Finance, Govt House, Abia state, Sir Romanus Madu said they were overwhelmed with joy at the privilege provided for them to be of service to God and humanity and prayed God to equip them up to live up to the expectations.

They described the victory of the governor at the Tribunal as a reflection of the wishes of the people who voted massively for Dr Okezie Ikpeazu and appealed to the opposition to shealth their sword in the interest of the state.

Congratulating the Deputy Governor and wife on their investiture, the Transition Committee Chairman, Aba North LGA, Chief, Charles Eseonu, the Former Special Adviser to the governor on Boundary Matters, Sir Chris Nwanevu described the honour done to Sir Oko Chukwu as well deserved, having dedicated his life to the service of God from childhood to date and had work to progress to the highest order in the Knights of St Mulumba and prayed God to bless his endeavours in the Lord’s vineyard and society at large.

The event featured the taking of oaths of allegiance by the newly invested 4th degree Knights of St Mulumba alongside their ladies.
