Eligbolo community issued ultimatum to criminals

Eligbolo community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area has issued a 14 days ultimatum to criminals hiding in their community to vacate.
Community Development Chairman of Eligbolo Community Ozuru Wawa gave the ultimatum during a security meeting held over the weekend.
Mr Wawa said the warning became important following security report that some criminals are moving into the community to escape arrest from the police.

” we have come in conclusion that anybody who is residing in our community that is involved in perpetrating crime , we are given him 14 days to leave the community. Eligbolo community is a peaceful community. We wouldn’t like anybody to come to spoil this community for us. Most of this boys they are chasing outside this community, most of them are coming to hide here which we will not allow in our society”

Also Director of Security in Eligbolo Community Sunny Chinda has advised landlord in the area to proffer their tenant before renting out their houses.

” they should be sure of the person they are renting their houses to. If you want to get the data of that person, get it. So that in case of anything, you will know where to trace them. Also know the kind of visitors that your tenant will bring to your house. They can bring arm rubbers to your house, they spend night there, that same night they operate and move unknowing to you. Landlord should be very careful while accepting any body as tenant in their various houses”

Still on security, correlation of Civil Society Organization in Rivers State said installation of CCTV cameras in around high institutions in the State will curb gang related killings and other social vices on campuses in the State.
Chairman of the correlation Georgewill Enefa stated this while condemning the killing of two students of the Rivers State University last week. He spoke further on measures he thinks high institutions should adopt to end crime on campuses across the State.

” government should lay off the old security personnel and employ well trained young technological inclined security personnel required for universities as practiced world over. Government and school management should provide new operational vehicles and mobile radio for security personnel. School management should follow due process in arresting and prosecuting the real gang members. And not to arrest genuine student activist and tag them cultist because they are campaigning for student welfare on campus”
