Celebration in Aba as work begins on osusu road

A cross section of Aba residents have commended Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for his resolve to mark the first one hundred days of his second term with the commissioning of the long abandoned Osusu/ Ama- Ogbonna-Faulks road.

Bearing their minds over the resumption of work on the road, some residents including Mr Okoro Ogbonna and Miss Grace Nwosu appreciated the Governor for mobilizing the contractor handling the project back to site, adding that the road when completed will alleviate their plights as well as open up the areas for more economic activities.

Also answering questions from newsmen, the contractor handling the road and managing Director EKCLEEN INTEGRATED SERVICES NIGERIA LTD Mr Uzoma Onuoha said that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has mobilized and mandated the company to ensure that the road is listed among the projects earmarked for commissioning in the first one hundred days of his second term.

Mr Onuoha noted that his company had earlier desilted the drains along the road, adding that if not for the prompt intervention Osusu area of Aba would had been submerged due to heavy downpour,disclosing that a new drainage system from Faulks road down to Osusu to Ama Ogbonna are being constructed to channel flooding to the Aba river.

He cautioned Aba residents against dumping refuse into water ways but to always dump their wastes at designated dump sites to avoid the reccuring blockage of drainages and assured that the firm will deliver a quality road network and on time.
