Ikpeazu reveal plans for Abia youths as Ooni of Ife visits Abia.

Abia state Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has announced the plans of his administration to empower one hundred Abia youths through overseas training on modern shoe – making.

This training, he said would commence with thirty persons while the remaining would be engaged before the end of the first quarter of next year.

The Governor made this public while receiving in audience, the Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi who called on him at the Government House, Umuahia.

According to the Governor, when youths are fully engaged, the issue of kidnapping, armed robbery and other criminal activities would be curbed.

He called for sustainable unity in Nigeria, expressing hope on the strength in unity in diversity of the nation and charged the youths to always channel their  grievances appropriately.

Ikpeazu used the opportunity to disclose that the ‘made in Aba’ fashion show was ongoing at the United Kingdom, where the products of the State are being showcased.

Earlier,Ooni Adeyeye Ogunwusi said he was in the State to continue  the call for unity and oneness in the nation as well as to show solidarity to the Governor, whose activities he said, he has been following closely, noting that the Governor has passion for traditional institution in Nigeria.

The royal father who lauded the giant strides of the Governor also revealed that part of his visit was to identify with the State as Eze Eberechi Dick, the Chairman, Abia Council of Traditional Rulers was celebrating his new yam festival.

He called on the Governor to draw the youths close to his administration and let them know that their welfare are taken care of, saying that he is proud of the youths and enjoined the Governor to help re-orientate them on the best way forward as disintegration does not pay.

The Ooni who stated that the Igbo nation is the truly the lifeline of Nigeria, harped on the need for  all Nigerians to come together to make the the nation work.
