Two political super powers England and USA will meet today, not in the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, but in the semi-finals of the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.
It will be a clash between a highly defensive side and a free scoring side. While England have four straight clean sheets, the US have scored 22 goals.
Both sides have met only once in the World Cup with the Americans defeating the English women 3-0.
The winner of this encounter will play the final against the winner of tomorrow’s semi-final between Netherlands and Sweden.
Meanwhile, FIFA’s Referees Committee has appointed Alves Batista Edna from Brazil to officiate the match. She will be assisted by two of her countrywomen.
