2019 AFCON: Cameroon, Ghana in Titans Clash

Defending champions, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon will lurk horns with four-time champions, the Black Stars of Ghana in one of the most interesting group-stage matches.

Cameroon had a comfortable 2-0 win over Guinea Bissau in their first match while the Black Stars drew 2-2 with the Benin Republic.

Anything less than a victory tonight might spell doom for Ghana, especially if the Benin Republic get all three points against Guinea Bissau.

Today’s third match will be between debutants Mauritania and Angola. A win for Angola will brighten their chances of qualifying to the next round as Tunisia and Mail settled their encounter, yesterday, 1-1.

After a goalless first half, Diadie Samassekou put the Malians in front in the 60th minute only for Wahbi Khazri to restore parity 10 minutes later.

In other results, Yousef En-Nesyri scored the only goal with which the Atlas Lions of Morocco defeated the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire.

Morocco have qualified for the round of 16 having garnered six points in two matches.

South Africa bounced back to winning ways with a 1-0 victory over the Brave Warriors of Namibia. Bongani Zungu scored the only goal to give Bafana Bafana their first win of this AFCON after they lost their first match to Cote d’Ivoire.
