Abia Gov. Wife Mrs. Ikpeazu (C) and Members of Caretaker Committee, Abia Markets
Business Men and Traders in the various markets in Abia State have been charged to collaborate with the state government for more growth and economic development.
The Governor’s wife who made the charge in a meeting with Members of the Caretaker Committee in charge of markets within the state in her Government House office expressed confidence that the people appointed into leadership of the markets will engender a turn around that would manifest into good working relationships between traders and government.
Mrs. Ikpeazu urged them to maintain peace and progress as well as keeping the market environment clean.
She assured that the present administration will not neglect the development of markets and their welfare because of their contribution towards economic growth of the state.
In their separate speeches, the President, ASMATA, Mr. Emeka Emechebe who spoke unbehalf of the amalgamated market leaders said that they will comply on all directives given to them as well as play their own role towards the economic emancipation of Abia and to support the present administration led by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
However, the Caretaker Committee asked for government support by providing enabling environment for them to ply their trade and at the same time solicits for appointments of their members to positions acrue to them.
