2019 Women World Cup: Dennerby Names 27 Players

Ahead of next month’s FIFA Women’s World Cup, Super Falcons coach, Thomas Dennerby has released his provisional squad of 27 players for their final preparations.

After their final preparations, which will take palce in Austria, four players will be axed from the squad leaving 23 players, who will make the final list for the mundial slated for France between June 7 and July 7.

The list includes goalkeepers, Tochukwu Oluehi and Chiamaka Nnadozie both of Rivers Angels, Alaba Jonathan of Bayelsa Queens and  Confluence Queens’ Christy Ohiaeriaku

Shortlisted defenders are Osinachi Ohale of Vaxjo DFF in Sweden; Ngozi Ebere of Arna Bjornar, Norway; Onome Ebi, who laces her boots for Henan Huisanhang, China; Josephine Chukwunonye of Kungsbacka DFF, Sweden; Faith Michael of Pitea IF, Sweden and home based, Chidinma Okeke of FC Robo.

Midfielders are Cecilia Nku of Ferencvaros Torna, Hungary; Rita Chikwelu of Krstianstand DFF, Sweden; Ngozi Okobi-Okeoghene of Eskiltuna United, Sweden; Evelyn Nwabuoku of Rivers Angels. Others are Ogonna Chukwudi of Djurgardens IF, Sweden; Halimatu Ayinde of Eskiltuna United, Sweden and  Amarachi Okoronkwo of Nasarawa Amazons.

The ladies, who are expected to get the goals are: Desire Oparanozie, who plays for En Avant Guingamp, France; Anam Imo of Malmo FC Rosengard, Sweden; Asisat Oshoala of FC Barcelona, Spain; Chinaza Uchendu of SC Braga, Portugal; Uchenna Kanu, who plies her trade in USA for Southeastern University; Rasheedat Ajibade of Alvadsnes IL, Norway; Francisca Ordega of Shanghai W. FC, China; Ini-Abasi Umotong of Brighton Hove & Albion, England and Alice Ogebe of Rivers Angels.
