The body of Builder Temple Okezie Aguamba has been laid to rest in his country home, Umuemele, Umuala Ngwaobi in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State.
Speaking during the funeral service at the All Saints Anglican Church, Ngwaobi Parish, Ven. Ebubechukwu Matthew in his sermon titled “Real life begins after death” with Bible text from Psalm 39:4-6, 90:12, described human body as the House of God, where the spirit of God lives.
According to him, when a man dies, the spirit departs to meet his Maker while the empty body left behind will decompose to become dust within the shortest possible time.
The cleric expressed disappointment that man had neglected the real him which is the soul and is busy decorating the shadow with different kinds of ornament noting that after the death of a man, his real life journey starts.
“Whatever everyone has in this life is a mere shadow of himself. The world is a shadow. Life is shadow. one fateful day man must leave this Earth to meet with his creature”, Ven. Matthew declared.
He urged Christians to run the race of life by submitting their lives to God.
While consoling the family of Aguamba to take solace in God’s word, Ven. Matthew expressed confidence that the dedication and commitment of the deceased to the things of God could earn him a place in God’s kingdom.
In his tribute, the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chikwendu Kalu, described the demise of Mr. Temple Aguamba as painful and shocking pointing out that the deceased performed his Civic responsibility by voting for him during the 2019 Governorship and State House of Assembly elections before his death the same day.
While stressing that death is an inevitable end of every mortal Kalu said he came on behalf of his family and the entire membership of the Abia State House of Assembly to condole with his Late Uncle’s family and enjoined them to anchor their faith in God noting that He will not disappoint them.
In a biography read by the deceased’s first son, Mr. Victor Chimaobi Ejiamaizu described, their late father as God-fearing, dedicated, and a responsible man who spent quality time to serve God with his substance in different capacities in the Anglican Communion especially at Ngwaobi Parish among others.
According to the biography, he worked in different capacities in the State Ministry of Works in the then Imo State and later proceeded to Federal Ministry of Works and Housing where he rose to the position of a Chief Building Officer and eventually retired from active service in July 2013.
Late Temple Okezie Aguamba who died at the age of 66, was survived by his wife, Mrs. Victoria Nnenna Aguamba, four children, and a host of relatives which includes the Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt Hon.Chikwendu Kalu.
