Abia Deputy Gov charges women

Deputy Governor of Abia state, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu has charged Catholic Women to see their roles as mothers as a vocation and calling from God to change the various ills in the society. Sir Oko Chukwu who gave the charge during the 2019 Mothers Day celebration of the Catholic Women Organisation ( CWO) of the Mater Dei Catholic Parish, Umuahia with the theme Catholic Women called ! Holiness to sanctify the world for Holistic Development urged women not to be wary in performing their God given roles as mothers to inculcate good morals and godly trainings to their children. The deputy governor congratulated all Catholic Women on their celebration of this year’s mother’s day, pointing out that they are not unmindful of their roles in their various Families , Nation building and nurturing children.He commended them for what they have been doing in contributing to the uplift of the manfolks and humanity at large. He used the opportunity to thanked Abia Mothers for their inputs and support towards the re-election of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, himself and other PDP candidates in the general elections and assured that they will surely deliver on their mandate to people, while soliciting their sustained prayers to enable them meet up with the expectations from entire Abians. In his Homily, the Cathedral Administrator, Mater Dei Cathedral , the Rev Fr. David Aguneri while reminding mothers of the need to reflect on their roles as mothers and urged all to support mothers to enable them achieve their God given potentials of bringing Compassion, Charity and Peace which are the (3) basic ingredients of true womanhood which when put in practice make them become beauties of creation. The Rev Fr. Aguneri further urged Christians to emulate the prodigal son’s spirit of recognising his sins and asked for forgiveness from God and man to ensure that the real essence of reconciliation between God and man is achieved. The highlight of the service was the unveiling of the statue of Virgin Mary in honour of the ( CWO) Mother’s Day.
