Gov. Ikpeazu praises Abia Workers,assures immediate commencement of 2018 promotion

Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has poured encomium on the state workforce, describing them as the strength, pillar and support of his administration.

The Governor also assured that the promotions for 2018 would commence immediately while allowances will continue to be paid civil servants in the state.

Governor Ikpeazu who was speaking at a meeting with the state civil servants held at Abia State old secretaiat building, Ogurube layout Umuahia assured that the days ahead would be better than the past for the Abia civil servants.

Ikpeazu further described the civil service as the book work and engine room of governance and appreciated them for keeping faith with his administration despite challenges.

His words: “Without Abia Civil Service,it wouldn’t have been possible for Abia to be the focal state in the South East for health, infrastructure and education. Therefore, I want to thank you people for the great job you have done despite the daunting challenges”.

He expressed his desire to ensure regular training and retraining of Civil servants and promised to ensure that the workers operate in a conducive environment with regular supply of water and electricity.

While reminding them that so much is expected of them in the days ahead,Governor Ikpeazu urged them to cast their ballots for him and other PDP candidates in the forthcoming governorship and house of Assembly elections.

The Governor who said he was overwhelmed by the turn out of civil servants thanked them for their support for his administration.

Head of Service,Sir Onyii Wammah in his remarks, assured the civil servants of a new era in the state civil service.

Wammah described the civil servants as honest and hardworking adding that they will work with the governor to achieve his administration’s objectives are achieved before, during and after the elections.

The civil servants presented a car key to Governor Ikpeazu.
