ASOPADEC Chairman calls for re-election of Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu

As Abians prepare to chose their leaders in the coming elections on 9th march, 2019, The Chairman, Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (ASOPDEC), Chief Okezie Nwogu, has reiterated his call for Abians to vote massively for the re-election of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

Speaking to newmen at his country home Ulorgo Igiri Ukwu Owaza in Ukwa West Local Government Area, Chief Nwogu, said that the Governor has performed creditable in office and argued that it would be justifiable as contained in the Abia chatter of equity to re-elect the Governor to his second tenure like other former governors of the state from Abia North and central respectively.

The ASOPADEC, Chairman who described Governor Ikpeazu,as God sent and a man of his people expressed hope that with experience the Governor has acquired in his last tenure we stand a better chance of sustaining the giant of his rapid transformation of the state.

On his commissions thriving effort in the state, Chief Nwogu, said the commission is on course in complimenting the giant strides of Governor Ikpeazu with over 150 projects ongoing and completed and also commended the governor for his consistent release of funds to the commission which has enable the function effectively.

In another development, The Chairman, Abia State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, Chief Okezie Nwogu, has charged the staff of his commission to ensure that they vote massively for the re-eletion of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, and other People Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the rescheduled Governorship and State House of Assembly elections coming up on 9th March, 2019.

Chief Nwogu, who gave the charge during a weekly prayer of the commission held at her headquarters office recently in Umuahia, said that the commission as an interventionist agency has continually been supportive by the Governor through the consistent release of funds due to her which has enable the commission pay staff salaries up to date and engaged in over 150 development projects across the state.

The ASOPADEC boss also pointed out that it would be justified before Abia chatter of equity that the Governor be voted in for the second tenure like other former governors of the state from Abia North and Central who served eight years during their tenure and promised that staff welfare will continue to be given priority attention including leave allowance.

On his remark, the Permanent Secretary/ Board Secretary of ASOPADEC, Mr Odoemela Alozie, requested the staff to continue to be regular and punctual in their duties in order to justify the regular payment of salaries and allowances while urging them to sustain their support for the government of Okezie Victor Ikpeazu who he described as a Worker- friendly Governor.

In his sermon, “the power of the knowledge” the guest pastor of the prayer meeting pastor Bright Ehiriodo, said Christians need to equip themselves with the word of God to understand the plan of God for them and stressed that the word of God is a powerful tool in their hand.
