March 9, polls: Ngwa youths endorse Gov Ikpeazu and Abia Assembly Speaker

Ikem Nvosi Youth Forum in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State, have thrown their weight of support in the re-election bid of the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and the Speaker, Rt.Hon Chikwendu Kalu.

 

Speaking on behalf of the Youths, the Chairman, Comrade Chidiebere Nwadike, who made the this known when the group paid a courtesy visit to the Abia Speaker, at his country home, Umuala Ngwaobi, Isiala Ngwa South, said they came to show solidarity support to the member representing them in the Abia State House of Assembly adding that they are in total support of his re-election come March 9th polls because of his laudable achievements since elected as a lawmaker and his impact in the lives of his constituents.

 

Nwadike said it’s as a result of his quality representation and the good works he had attracted to Isiala Ngwa South pointing out that his good works speak volume of his second term move.

 

Also contributing, the Secretary of the Youth forum, Comrade Chibuike Enyioko extolled the Speaker for his leadership style in the House of Assembly noting that since he was elected as the Speaker, he has maintained absolute peace in the Assembly and cordiality between the legislative and the executive arms of the government.

 

He, therefore, moved a motion adopting Governor Ikpeazu and Rt.Hon Kalu as their sole candidates in the March 9 Governorship and State House of Assembly elections which was heralded by all the members of the Youth forum.

 

Meanwhile, a People’s Democratic Party Chieftain in Isiala Ngwa South, Chief Tony Ururuka, expressed pleasure over the move by the youths and aligned himself in support of same.

 

Responding, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Chikwendu Kalu, expressed gratitude for the solidarity guesture shown by the Youths, stating that Governor Ikpeazu’s re-election and his own is an Ngwa-man course that must be fought to the letter.

 

He further described the Ngwa youths as the most concerned stakeholders in the electoral process and urged them to dissociate from deceitful and desperate politicians whose mission is to mislead them.

 

Kalu noted with gross displeasure that the greatest challenge his party, the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, is facing is the members speaking in discordant tones and he enjoined the youths not to toe in such direction.
