‘Make good judgement with your PVC’, Abia Speaker tells Traditional Rulers

Traditional Rulers have been called upon to participate actively in the general polls with a view to make good judgement with their Permanent voter cards, PVC.

 

The Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon Chikwendu Kalu, who made the call while addressing  Traditional Rulers in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State in a meeting held at Ngwaobi in Isiala Ngwa South today, described the 2019 general elections as a wake-up call to judge between quality representation and bad governance.

 

 

He stated with displeasure that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, under the watch of President Muhammadu Buhari has disappointed Nigerians with his style of leadership.

 

While underscoring their importance in the society, Kalu, urged them not to be deterred by the postponement of the February 16 polls but urged them to turnout en masse come February 23,and March 9 to vote in candidates of People’s Democratic Party, PDP, for quality representation and dislodge the ruling APC, for bad governance.

 

Highlighting some of his achievements since elected as a State lawmaker cum the Speaker of Abia House of Assembly, Kalu pointed out that he had attracted numerous life-touching projects, constructed and rehabilitated many rurals roads, built bungalow houses for indigent widows in the 10 wards of his Constituency, distributed over 1,900 bags of fertilizers to the people of the constituency,  empowered many indigenes of Isiala Ngwa South adding there are about 45 Liaison officers and Special Assistants under his payroll among other humanitarian projects done in his constituency.

 

In their separate remarks, the host monarch, Eze Clement Maduforo, Eze Jehu Ngobi, and the Chairman, Isiala Ngwa South traditional rulers council, Eze Paul Okpanku all expressed delight on the Speaker’s visit and achievements since elected as a lawmaker adding that he is the only Lawmaker who has identified with traditional rulers in the Council.

They noted that they are aware of the humanitarian projects accomplished by the Member representing Isiala Ngwa South State Constituency and assured him of their unalloyed support in the coming elections.

 

They unanimously requested that they be carried along in whatsoever project done in their communities and wards as community leaders and however prayed for the Speaker, Governor Ikpeazu, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Senator T.A Orji and Hon. Darlington Nwokocha to emerge victorious in the February 23 and March 9 elections.
