Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has sworn-in 17 Transition Committee Chairmen and their Deputies.
Also sworn-in is the newly appointed commissioner for Youth Development, Comrade Dannie Ubani.
Speaking at the event held at Government House Umuahia, the Governor charged the chairmen to make the security of lives and property paramount in their LGAs by liaising with the security agencies in their domain
He noted that their presence has closed the vacuum that has existed in the LGAs, adding that their coming on board at this time is very auspicious as it is only few days to the general elections.
The Governor said he expects them to switch to action immediately and ensure that they deliver the PDP in the coming elections.
Governor Ikpeazu while urging them to carry the stakeholders along and avoid rancor within the ranks of the political class also challenged the deputies to support and complement the effort of their bosses.
The Governor equally enjoined the new commissioner of Youths to bring his ingenuity and wealth of experience to bear in ensuring robust policies that will better the lots of Abia youths.
In their responses, the Commissioner for Youth Development Comrade Danny Ubani and the Transaction Chairman of Aba North, Chief Charles Esonu appreciated the Governor for appointing them. They pledged their unalloyed support for the Governor and promised not to disappoint the governnent and people of Abia State.
