2019 polls: Abia Speaker cautions Abians on Presidential election

The Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chikwendu Kalu, has cautioned Abians to change the poor voting attitude they exhibited during the 2015 Presidential election and come up stronger with a view to achieve landslide victory this year.

 

 

Kalu who made the mark during the grand finale of his ward-to-ward campaign tour of ward 8 and Ward 9 in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area,today, stated that he was dissatisfied over the manner at which his constituents and Abians at large voted in the last Presidential election noting that if they must achieve victory in this 2019 general elections, the people must change such nonchalant attitude they demonstrated in 2015 and vote PDP massively.

 

 

He thanked the people of Ovungwu Ward 8 and Ovuokpu ward 9 in Isiala Ngwa South State Constituency for voting him in the 2015 general elections and appealed to them to repeat the feat by trooping out en masse come February 16 and March 2, polls to reelect all the PDP candidates to ensure they achieved 100% victory.

The number three citizen of Abia State further pointed out that he had appointed and recommended many indigenes of Isiala Ngwa South as his aides and Special Assistants to the Governor, and is currently paying 45  Liaison officers among other life touching projects he had accomplished in his constituency adding that he is passionate to attract more quality democracy dividends to the people if reelected.

 

 

He appealed to the people of his Constituency to sheath their swords of grievances especially those who have not benefitted from their administration and assured them that they would fare better after the general elections.

Meanwhile, the Former Commissioner for Youth Development and the newly appointed Transition Committee Chairman of Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Council, Chief Ike Anyatonwu, and the General Manager of Abia Community and Social Development Project, Dr. Chinatu Njoku, urged the people of Isiala Ngwa South to vote cautiously to avoid gross mistakes that could lead to invalid vote or cancellation.

 

 

In their separate remarks, the Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area, PDP Campaign Council Coordinator, Chief Patrick Onwuka and a PDP Chieftain in Isiala Ngwa South, Chief Darmian Ozurumba, convinced the people to vote in all PDP candidates and further expressed optimism that PDP will emerge victorious at the end of the general elections.

Highpoint of the rally/campaign was the welcoming of over 60 defectors from All Progressives Congress, APC, and the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, to the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
