Abia state Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has called on the people of Ikwuano and Umuahia South Local Government Areas to vote only for the People’s Democratic Party in the forthcoming elections, insisting that PDP is the only party that has all it takes to make Abia and Nigeria better.
Speaking during the PDP rally of Ikwuano and Umuahia South Local Governnent Areas of the State,Governor Ikpeazu noted that only the PDP has solutions to the myraid of socio political and economic problems facing the country .
He urged the people of the two Local Government Areas not to make the political mistake of being in the opposition parties but to remain resolute with the PDP, especially as their sons are stakeholders in the party.
Ikpeazu while assuring that more democracy dividends will be extended to the people of the area including appointment of their indigenes into positions of authority,said his administration will redefine infrastructural development in the State through the construction of Trans Abia High Way that would stretch from Nsulu through Ikwuano to Arochukwu LGA.
In their speeches, Senator representing Abia Central Chief T. A. Orji,the member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, Chief Sam Onuigbo and Candidates for Ikwuano and Umuahia South State constituencies, Mr. Stanley Nwabuisi and Chief Jerry Uzosike requested their people to ensure they vote PDP enmasse.
They said that it is in voting PDP that the people would have hope assuring that they would not disappoint the electorates.
Also speaking, the PDP State Chairman, Sir Johnson Onuigbo, Campaign Director General, Elder John Nwangborogwu and some stakeholders, including Prince Vincent Ogbulafor, Chief Tony Ukasoanya, Rev. Benson Ezem among others called on the people to make sure the PDP secures victory.
Earlier in their remarks, the Coordinator of Ikwuano PDP Campaign Council, Deacon Stanley Ojigbo and his Umuahia South counterpart, Pastor Emeka Inyama stated that other political parties have collapsed in their Local Government Areas.
