Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has commended the senator representing Abia central Chief Theodore Orji for the role he played in ensuring justice and fairness as enshrined in the Abia charter of equity which paved the way for his emergence as the first Ukwa Ngwa Governor.
Governor Ikpeazu said that without the person of Senator T. A. Orji the Ngwa nation would have still been marginalized in terms of politics and governance,adding that history will never forget the role of the people of Umuahia North in ensuring his emergence as Governor which accounts for the prevailing peace,unity and development in the state.
The Governor who made the assertion while addressing traditional rulers of Umuahia North LGA at the palace of their chairman in Oriendu Ohuhu,also urged the traditional rulers to mobilize their subjects for the victory of PDP at all levels.
While calling on Traditional rulers and other stakeholders in the state to be part of the struggle to make the right changes in the political firmament of the country,the Governor said it is incumbent on all to join forces with well meaning Nigerians to return the south East and Nigeria as the fastest growing economy like the era of late Dr Michael Okpara who laid solid economic foundation for the Eastern region.
The Chairman Umuahia North traditional rulers Council, Eze Phillip Ajomiwe in his remarks said that traditional rulers in Umuahia North have resolved to support the re-election of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and senator T. A Orji as it is just and equitable before God and man.
Also some traditional rulers of Umuahia North including Eze Paul Uzuegbu and the traditional ruler of Okaiuga Alike Autonomous community Eze Innocent Nwaigwe said that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has through many people oriented projects endeared himself to the people of Umuahia North LGA and promised to mobilize their subjects for his re-election bid.
