Abia government to partner clubs on sporting activities

Abia state governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has restated the commitment of his administration in partner with the Aba Sports Club in promoting sporting activities in the state.

Dr Ikpeazu who stated this at the 2019 1st Aba Ladies Open Golf Tournament Tee off ceremony at the Aba Sports Club, Aba commended the management of the club for consistently organising sporting engagements that engendered physical exercise.

The Governor represented by his Deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu who promised to always identify with all their programs said the tournament was geared towards keeping them physically fit and wished them a successful outing.

In his remarks, the Chairman, organising committee and Special Adviser to the Governor on SME. Sir Greg Esotu said they packaged the event as part of their efforts to encourage women participation in golf competition in the state and thanked Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for honoring their event.

Also speaking, the President, Ladies Golf Association of Nigeria, Mrs Ekanem Ekwueme said golfers from across the country are participating in the tournament and appreciated the Aba Golf Club for organising the competition.
