Ahead of the Governorship election slated for March 2nd 2019,Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has stated that he is not running a government for election but for the next generation.
Governor Ikpeazu who stated this at the Governorship Debate held at Abia Hotels Umuahia noted that successive administrations in the state were not able to achieve what his administration achieved in the last four years in terms of road infrastructure ,Small and Medium Scale Promotion,Agriculture and Education among others.
The Governor who used the occasion to give a detailed account of his administration’s achievements in office since inception said he has achieved alot in line with his administration’s five pillars of development which include. Trade and Commerce, Oil and Gas as well as Education, Health and Agriculture.
He noted that his government leveraged on its comparative advantage to create enabling environment for SMEs to thrive and also market Made in Aba products noting that the Enyimba Economic City will open up frontiers of development in the state and generate massive employment for the teeming youths.
Ikpeazu while pointing out that although the state has not gotten to its Eldorado,said with determination it would get there soon adding that his administration is committed to taking Abia to greater heights.
Governorship aspirant of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), Dr Alex Otti commended Governor Ikpeazu for fixing the Okobo bridge in Arochukwu LGA of the state.
Other aspirants who participated in the Governorship debate organized by Abia Online Media Practitioners Association include Mrs Blessing Nwagba of the SDP and Barr. Emeka Uwakolam of the Accord Party.
