50 African women speak project out launched in Abia

A WOMEN LEADERSHIP AWARENESS & MOBILIZATION project code named 50 million African women speak out project has been inaugurated in Abia state with a charge on women to cue into the project as to benefit from the enormous opportunities inherent in the organisation.

Speaking at the inauguration of the Abia chapter of the project, the Local Content Manager and Representative of ECOWAS, one of the sponsors of the Project, Mrs Angela Nwaogwogwu challenged them to be diligent in all their undertakings as that offers them the gateway to the opportunities in the project.

Mrs Nwaogwugwu explained that the project was conceived to empower women through business development trainings, networking, facilitating access to financial & non-financial information through the use of online platforms which according to her have been put in place to reduce the burden on women entrepreneurs.

In a well tailored power point presentation, Mrs Nwaogwugwu took time to go through all the areas the platforms would provide assistance to women entrepreneurs to expand their businesses investments and encourage new ones to start up.

The project which also has in collaboration, support from the African Development and Access Banks would equally work with certification authorities like SON and NAFDAC on modalities to assist women get their products on shelves even across the boarders easily.

According to her, the platform would in no distant time requires women to create an account with the project with detailed information about their products and services as this would create the necessary market for their products online but however warned that duplication of accounts would not be allowed.

She assured that other benefits in business networking, trainings, partnerships, career and financial opportunities among others would be permanently provided.

The ECOWAS Local Content Manager charged the women to ensure that every woman in their locality benefit from the programme as every country is currently mobilizing their womenfolk to be part of the project.
In her welcome address, the Regional Coordinator for South East, Mrs Phoebe Nwaorgu, appreciated Mrs Nwaogwugwu pledged their support and cooperation of the women of South East to the success of the programme and charged women to redouble their efforts so as to be counted amongst the 50 million African women earmarked to benefit from the Project.

She enjoined the ECOWAS Manager to appealed to the leaders to carry the good news to the grassroots through their town union meetings, churches especially during this annual women August conference when most women are engaged in development meetings.

She urged more than the thirty women participants to work towards getting ready all would be required to cue them online once the platform was launched.
“Let’s mobilize and push forward until every woman is captured in Nigeria” she concluded.
