Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has vowed that those responsible for the tragic killing of a young woman in Abraka will be held accountable. The victim, who remains unidentified, was reportedly struck by a stray bullet fired by security operatives pursuing suspected criminals.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the Governor described the incident as “very unfortunate,” emphasizing that the tragedy could have been avoided had the operatives “adhered strictly to standard operational procedures.”

He extended his condolences to the victim’s family and urged security personnel to exercise restraint and uphold professional conduct.

Governor Oborevwori stated,”I charge security agencies operating in the state to exercise restraint and professionalism in the discharge of their duties to avoid needless loss of innocent lives”.

He further reassured residents of his administration’s commitment to public safety, “My government remains committed to protecting the lives and property of all residents of the state”.

The Governor also called for calm in the Abraka community as investigations into the incident continue.
