The remains of late Madam Comfort Kalu Ogudu have been laid to rest in her husband country home, in Ndi- Umuozio, Ndi- Nate Compound of Amaekpu Ohafia in Ohafia L.G.A of Abia State.

Speaking during the funeral service held in her honour at the Ndi- Idika Square Amaekpu Ohafia by the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria,Ugwu Parish Amaekpu Ohafia, the Abia State Deputy Governor, Engr Ikechukwu Emetu, observed that the deceased had left a very big vacuum, following her departure and enjoined the children of the deceased – Mr. John Kalu and his brother Obuba Kalu, to strive to fill and occupy the vacuum .

Engr. Emetu who pointed out that there is time for everything under the sun, said, “A day comes when one is born and a day like this is when God calls that He has created to come and rest”.

“We thank God that your mum got up a point where we don’t really have to cry that much but I know you always want her to be by your side but I must tell you she is at the better place. I must say wherever she is today she is telling you weep no more”.

Preaching earlier during the funeral service, the homilist, Rt. Rev. Ukoha Ngwobia reminded christians that all would be remembered by the good legacy they left while on Earth.

Rt. Rev. Ngwobia who preached on the topic, “Building a Lasting Legacy, enjoined the gathering not to allow their background prevent them from building a legacy while on earth.

The homilist who described the bereaved as a devoted Christian, urged all those that are still doing evil things to turn a new leaf and give their life to Christ.

He further said that deceased lived a life of emulation and urged her children to follow the legacy their late mother left behind

 

Presenting a biography on behalf of the family, the one of her son, Mr James Kalu Ogudu described his mother as a peace maker, devout Christian, as well as a wonderful mother and socialite who always stood by the truth .

Also reading his own mother’s tribute, Mr. John Kalu Ogudu, a Staff in the office of the Deputy Governor, who described his late mother as a strong, great counselor, adviser and a God fearing mother who laid her life for others and contributed immensely to her children.

Mr John Kalu Ogudu assured that they would uphold the legacy their late mother left behind and thanked those who left their busy schedule to identified with them at this moment of trying as well pray God to grant them journey mercy.

Aged 84, Late Madam Comfort Kalu Ogbudu was survived by her four Children including of his Son, Mr John Kalu Ogbudu , a Staff of the Office of the Deputy Governor and other numerous relatives.
