The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have been drawn into a very difficult group in the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations. The most successful team in the competition with seven titles were drawn in Group B against former Champions Egypt and Morocco as well as South Africa.
Host, Cote d’Ivoire will play in Group A against DR Congo, Ghana, the only African side that have won the U-20 World Cup in 2009, Tanzania and another yet to be decided team.
Champions, Senegal will play in Group C against Zambia, Kenya and Sierra Leone.
Group A comprises of five teams while the other two teams comprise of four teams each. The top two teams in each group and two best third-placed teams will qualify for the quarter-finals.
The four semi-finalists will qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup slated for Chile later in the year.
The U-20 AFCON will take place between April 26 and May 18, 2025.
