2023:We’ll Not Allow Opposition Take Any Seat In Aba-PDP

 

The People’s Democratic Party in Abia State, has vowed never to allow the three State House of Assemby seats in Aba, as well as, the Aba North/South Federal Constituency seat, slip off the hands of PDP come 2023.

The seats which are partly occupied by the PDP and APGA would be a fierce battle in 2023, as the PDP has vowed to regain the Aba Central State seat that is currently being occupied by the APGA’s Hon Obinna Ichita.

Addressing the large crowd of youths, men and women that came out to receive the leaders of the party at the Aba North and South Council Headquarters, the chairman of the PDP in Abia, Rt Hon Alwell Asiforo Okere, charged stakeholders and other party faithful in the area, to ensure the Aba South, Aba North and Aba Central seats in the State House of Assembly,as well as the Aba North/ South Federal Constituency seat, are delivered to PDP.

According to the PDP chairman,the agenda of the party is to recover all lost grounds in 2023, hence, the sensitization tour across the various Local Government Areas of the State to unify and strengthen the party.

The Chairman, however, commended the PDP Lawmakers in the area both state and federal, for their tireless efforts in dragging the dividend of democracy to their constituents,which he said is evident in the large turnout of people that came to receive them.

In his remarks, the member representing Aba North State Constituency, Hon Aaron Uzodike, extolled the leadership of the party under the watch of Rt.Hon Asiforo Okere, for his peaceful disposition that has brought the party to an enviable height.

Hon Uzodike promised to deliver PDP in Aba North LGA. According to him,that is the only way to reciprocate and appreciate the Governor of the state for his signature projects scattered everywhere in Aba, making Aba the major beneficiary of his administration.

In their remarks, the PDP Abia South Zonal Chairman, Hon David Chigbu and Lady Gladys Nwamuo, pledged their loyalty to the party, reminding their supporters of the need to register and obtain their PVCs so that they can vote PDP all the way.

Also, the Member representing Aba North/South Federal Constituency, Hon Chimaobi Ebisike, promised the PDP never to disappoint them come 2023, adding that he would bring his strength, humility and capacity to bare in the next general elections.

Earlier, the Aba North LGA chairman, Hon David Ikonne, described the visit by the party exco as one that can foster love,unity and peace in the party, particularly in his local government.

Ikonne, however, enumerated some of his achievements to include renovation of the Local Government Headquarter buildings,Road grading,Water borehole projects in some wards, attracting of National Agriculture Land Development Authority (NALDA),under which over 600 indigenes and non indigenes have been trained in the scheme, among other milestone achievements.

In an Interview, the Commissioner for Youth Development, Barr Charles Esonu, reiterated his commitment to recover the Aba Central State Constituency seat for PDP.

Barr Esonu disclosed that as a way of reciprocating the good gesture of the Governor to the people of Aba, making them the major beneficiaries of his administration, come 2023,he would deliver Aba South to PDP.

In a similar vein, the PDP chairman, during his visit to Aba South LGA, charged members of the party to move into every nook and cranny of Aba south to preach the gospel of the party.

The Aba South LGA chairman, Hon Clinton Ebere,in his address, said the PDP tour to his local government would engender unity and robust relationship among the party faithful.

He noted that his administration has created an enabling environment for democratic dividends to get to the grassroots, adding that he has supported the education of children in the area, through his free registration of WAEC and JAMB programme.

Hon Clinton Ebere,further revealed that he has embarked on unprecedented massive grading of roads and has also adopted the zero pot hole initiative of the state government,to aid hitch free vehicular movement in the Aba South metropolis.

In an Interview, the Commissioner for Industry, Promotions and Development, Chief Mrs Uwaoma Olewengwa, said that PDP in Aba south is very strong and it would remain a party to beat in 2023.

Mrs Olewengwa who lamented that women are not giving opportunity to hold political positions, despite the fact that they participate actively in political activities and even elections,called the attention of the State Chairman of the party to look critically into the issue of gender inequality in the political sphere of the state.

Also,the member representing Aba Central State Constituency in the Abia House of Assembly, Hon Abraham Oba,assured PDP of victory in the forth coming elections.

The President of the Abia State Almagamated Traders Association, Chief Lucky Akubueze,lauded the State exco for visiting Aba South LGA, which he said would help sensitize and inform party members of the activities of the party.

While pledging the support of traders to the party,the ASMATA president,thanked the Governor for carrying everyone along in his administration, describing him as a jinx breaker for being the first Governor to construct a fly over in Abia.
