The 2023 Federal House of Assembly Candidate for Ikwuano/Umuahia Constituency under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Engr Ogbonna Abarikwu, has successfully interfaced with executive members of APGA in Umuahia South Local Government Area.
Abarikwu who kicked started a ‘Thank You’ visit today across the three Local Government Areas that made up the Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency,had Ikwuano as his first point of call, followed by the Umuahia South Local Government Area.

The visit was basically to appreciate the Local Government and Ward executive of APGA,for supporting him to clinch the party’s ticket at the concluded Primary election.
At the Ekerobizi Umuopara Hall in Umuahia South LGA, the party executive from the local government to ward levels converged to have an interface with the Federal House of Representatives candidate.
In his speech, Abarikwu boasted that he would be the first Lawmaker, Ikwuano/Umuahia would produce that keeps to his words.
According to him,the constituency has not had his type of personality before as a Lawmaker, saying that from his pedigree, integrity would have a full play.
He said he came from a decent background that made him inculcate and pursue integrity early in life.
“Am a man of integrity,as a matter of fact,nobody should call me Honourable until i deliver on everything that qualifies one to be called an Honourable.
“I am not after big names, but am after bringing changes to Ikwuano/Umuahia”.
He further stated his readiness to bring integrity to Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency, adding that he would be transparent to the point of bringing to the open the amount that comes to the constituency every month for effective usage.
“This journey is not for me alone but for everyone in the Constituency.Everyone would be aware of the fund that comes to the Constituency.
“It is not going to be business as usual,we are not going to practice money politics,but ensure we deliver on the things the Constituency needs”,he added.
The Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal House candidate, equally noted that there alot of resources to meet the needs of the constituents, promising to recreate a workable health care system in Ikwuano/Umuahia, construct good roads and put a shift in the development of the Constituency.
Earlier,the Director General Ogbonna Abarikwu Campaign Organization,Mr Osondu Anamelechi, expressed gratitude to the executive of Umuahia South for supporting and delivering Ogbonna Abarikwu to clinch the party’s ticket.
Reacting, the Umuahia South APGA Chairman, Obioma Uluocha, commended the APGA candidate for coming back to appreciate the delegates who voted him during the Primary election, urging them not to relent in their support, but go to their various wards and canvass for more votes,as the tougher battle lies ahead.
Contributing,the Ubakala Ward A chairman, Ogbonnaya Chigozie who spoke on behalf of other ward chairmen and Mrs Theresa Ibezim who spoke on behalf of the women, pledged their support to Engr Ogbonna Abarikwu, promising that they would work for him to victory.
They promised not to let him down, adding that they would go to the grassroot and deliver him come 2023.
Similarly, Engr Abarikwu during his visit to Ikwuano promised to bring integrity into governance in Ikwuano/Umuahia constituency if he is elected to represent the constituency come 2023.
Interacting with Ikwuano critical stakeholders during a “Thank You” visit,held at Okwe -Ukwu hall, Oboro, Ikwuano LGA, he said, “We are trained to live a life of integrity, but unfortunately all the people who have been representing us in Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency do not have any thing like integrity.
“How can an Ikwuano son be in the Federal house ,yet the roads in Ikwuano are in bad condition,he queried?
“We have come to bring back integrity into governance in Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency .
“We are not going to wait until we win election before we show a life of integrity,that is why we are here to appreciate you for your support during the party primary elections” he said.
Speaking further, he explained that the delay in visiting was because he had to travel back to consult with the diaspora stakeholders after the primary elections.
He described his relationship with Ikwuano people as very cordial, adding that he is proud of their industrious nature.
Earlier in his speech,the Director general Campaign Organization of Engr Abarikwu, Mr Osondu Anamelechi , said,” we are here to thank the stakeholders who elected us during the party primaries,all the ward chairmen,ward secretaries, women leaders,youth leaders and party LGA executives for their efforts”.
In his response,the Ikwuano APGA chairman, Prince Marcellus Ogechi Nkulor, commended Engr Abarikwu Ogbonna for seeing the need to come back to appreciate the Ikwuano people, assuring that they would give him maximum support during the general election.
In their separate speeches, some of the stakeholders who spoke on behalf of others, Hon Nduka Izuchukwu, Chief Silas Ikpeama,Chief Chijioke Onuoha and Happiness Adieze, promised to give massive votes to Engr Abarikwu during the election.
