2023 Guber Race:Power Belongs To God, Ikpeazu Tells Politicans

 

 

As Politicians in Abia State justle for who will occupy the Abia state seat of power, ahead of the 2023 Gubernatorial elections, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has stated that power belongs to God who alone would decide his successor.

Governor Ikpeazu who stated this during the grand finale of the familiarisation visit of the State Working Committee of the PDP in the State held at Mgboko, the Obingwa LGA headquarters informed all those interested in the governorship position of the State that leadership is ordained by God, adding that he cannot ordain anyone as Governor of the state.

According to the Governor, he would meet with the State Working Committee of the party to take a stand on who succeeds him based on reports they have gathered from the 17 LGAs of the State.

Governor Ikpeazu thanked the PDP leadership in Abia State for her wisdom in going through the 17 LGAs for a familiarization visit aimed at strengthening the party in the State and described the visit as a way of securing victory for the party in the forthcoming general elections.

He urged Abians to ensure they obtain their Permanent Voters Cards as it is their power to vote.

Member representing Obingwa East at the State House of Assembly, Hon. Solomon Akpulonu while expressing happiness that the PDP led government of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has performed excellently,assured PDP that the party is on ground and would turn-in more votes than they did before in 2015.

In his speech, the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Rt. Hon. Allwel Asiforo Okere explainedthat their vision in embarking on the familiarization tour is to make the party stronger ahead of the forthcoming elections and applauded Governor Ikpeazu for giving the party evidence in form of projects to campaign with.

The Executive Chairman, Obingwa LGA, Chief Ibe Nwoke,in his address, highlighted the achievements of the PDP led administration in the State, pointing out that the PDP is the hope of Nigeria and Abia in general and assured that the LGA would continue to sustain its support to the party.

 

Speaking on behalf of the stakeholders of the party in Obingwa, Elder Godwin Nna, Chief Ezinwa Abiri and the Woman Leader, Mrs. Adline Aṅucha and others expressed joy over the familiarization exercise, insisting that Obingwa is the stronghold of PDP and thus, is prepared to sustain the record of 100 percent votes to the Party.
