2023: Abraham Godson clinches ADC ticket for Abia Central Senatorial Zone

A renowned Philanthropist , Hon Dr Johnson Abraham Godson, has emerged as the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senatorial candidate for the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

He has stated his readiness to ensure that Abia and Nigeria is restored to its lost glory through quality representation.

In his acceptance speech after being declared winner by the Returning officer, Nkem Ukandu, the Senatorial flagbearer commended his opponent for a closely run race, while thanking the delegates for the great confidence reposed on him.

He promised to fulfill all the promises he has made so far.

Hon Abraham who pulled a total number of 153 votes, defeated Mr Franklin Ikenna Nwaubani, who also pulled a total number of 124 votes.

Godson further reminded all that decisions taken during the forthcoming elections will determine the quality of everyone’s lives, not just for 4 years but for generations to come.

The ADC senatorial candidate, further, disclosed his priorities to include, being accessible and a good listener, attracting investors, which will help curb unemployment for indigenes, Education, capacity building and empowerment in the area of agriculture and other vocational fields, improving road situations in his constituency, expansion of scholarships for intelligent students from indigent homes, among others.

He also reminded all that his return back home was to serve, while urging all to work in unity with him to bring some positive changes into the constituency and state at large.

Fielding questions from newsmen, Godson who further expressed joy over the victory assured his constituents and Abians that he has come to serve, adding that the victory gave him a feeling of responsibility.

He added that having lived and served in Poland from the lowest level and as a two-tenure first ever black senator; came back to Nigeria to only invest but actually got involved in politics to help change the narratives.

He decried the sorry state of the country and urged all electorates to quit with the complaints and ensure they have their PVCs ready to ensure who ever emerges, brings out the beauty of Nigeria.

“Nigeria is a blessed country, I want people to be begging us to invite them to Nigeria”, he added.

Earlier in his remarks ,The ADC state party Chairman, Obinna D.Norman, commended tthe delegates and officials for ensuring a transparent election.

He added that the resolution to takeover the state is not a joke, while assuring all that ADC, with the primary election results and transparency so far ,will be the party to lead in 2023 elections.
