2023: Abia D’Gov ,Oko Chukwu Declares Interest To Succeed Ikpeazu

Abia State Deputy Governor, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu has declared his interest to run for the 2023 Guber race with an assurance to make the face of God, transparency, accountability and good Governance his guiding principal and watchword.

Sir. Oko Chukwu who made his declaration known at Nkporo Country Home in Ohafia LGA said he owe it his sacred duty to give back to Abians who have invested so much in him through their support that had enabled him serve in his capacity as a Legislator/ Speaker and Deputy Governor for the past 19 years.

The Deputy Governor reassured that he will not disappoint his people and entire Abians if given the opportunity to govern the state as he understands all the intricacies in governance having transversed all the nooks and crannies of the state.

He reminded Abians especially Abia North Zone party faithful of the need to chart a new cause for themselves as the process of chosing the best candidate for governorship post during the state primaries is a sacred duty that will determine their future and ensure the state is moved forward for the benefit of present and future generation.

In their remarks, the Zonal Chairman, PDP Abia North ,Elder Amah Abraham, the chairman PDP Ohafia LGA,Chief Emmanuel Agwu Ukpong, A former commissioner in local government commission, the Rev, Dr. Onyema Agbai and Elder statesman. Navy Capt, Chris Osondu Rtd., described the Deputy Governor as a tested and trusted personality that can govern the state having served meritoriously as a Legislator and Deputy Governor as well as distinguished himself as a chartered accountant and assured him of their unalloyed support.

The PDP chairman of Arochukwu LGA, Chief Sunday Okemimi, his Bende party counterpart, Chief Dike Dike , the Chairman of PDP Isuikwuato LGA, Chief Emenike Charles , that of Umunneochi, Chief Richard Mbanefo Ogbadogo and State PDP Woman leader, Lady Christy Emenike said with his antecedent, they have no doubt that he will excel in piloting the affairs of the state and prayed God to grant him success in his future political ambition.

A former House of Representatives member, Chief Arua Arunsi, PDP Party Chieftains from Abia North Zone and other notable personalities graced the ceremony.
