2022 World Teacher’s Day: Salvation Army Envoy Describes Them As Moulders Of Character

The Territorial Envoy of the Salvation Army, Nigeria Territory, Dr Levi C. Monanu, has congratulated teachers across the country, as they commemorate the 2022 World Teachers’ Day, describing them as critical stakeholders for national development.

Monanu who stated this in a statement made available to newsmen in Enugu recently, noted that teachers are carriers of knowledge, moulders of character and the foundation for overall societal good.

“Teachers are the backbone of society, the role models to children, they offer guidance and dedication and give young people the power of education.

“Because of Teachers, Countries are able to further develop socially,economically and spiritually.

“A good Teacher is like a candle, it consumes itself to light the way for others.

“Teaching has always been considered as a noble profession. No good teachers look for their own success and endeavour; they always have their students’ present and future in mind.

“As we join the global community to celebrate  Teachers today, I call on Government at all levels   to look into the plights of Teachers and improve their working conditions & salary.

“To Nigerian Teachers,I say, Happy Teacher’s Day to you! Your wisdom, dedication and kindness will always lead our children on the right path and inspire them to be better human beings” he stated.

The statement added that Monanu, who is also the Zonal Chairman, Christian Council of Nigeria(CCN) & National Director For Ecumenical Relations of The Salvation Army Nigeria Territory,  encouraged teachers to do always what is appropriate and right.

“Have confidence in the Lord, conduct yourself in an honourable manner, and bring wisdom to the hearers.

“On behalf of Christian Council Of Nigeria(CCN) South East Zone,I wish all the Teachers,a happy Teachers Day,”he prayed.

5th of October every year is dedicated to celebrate Teachers all over the World.

The theme for this year’s World Teachers’ Day celebration is “THE TRANSFORMATION OF EDUCATION BEGINS WITH TEACHERS”.
