2019: YPP Guber Candidate vows to pay pensions,salaries if elected

The governorship candidate of the Young People’s Party (YPP) in Abia state,Engr Joseph Nkoro, has vowed to pay salaries,pensions as well as gratuities promptly if elected come 2019.

Nkoro who disclosed this recently when some members of the party in Abia visited the former chief of Army staff, General Onyeabor Azubuike Ihejirika, said non payment of pensions and gratuities have been the bane of the present administration, and he is set to rewrite the wrong by putting as his top priority,the care of the elderly, as well repositioning Abia.

According to him, so many pensioners have died while pursuing their entitlement, adding that his parents were victims of the challenge.

The YPP governorship candidate said they have mapped out a blueprint on the policies that would help them better the lots of the state and its citizenry.

While lamenting the deplorable condition of the state as well as the challenges that have bedeviled the youth, Nkoro thanked Gen. Ihejirika for his efforts in ensuring youths get recruited into the Nigerian Army. He added that the members of the party decided to pay him( Ihejirika) a visit because he deserves honour for the feats attained

Responding, Gen Ihejirika thanked the YPP members for coming to visit him,urging the prospective governor not to relent in his mobilisation and sensitisation tour as it would enable him educate people on the need to better Abia.
He wished him well and prayed God to see him through his ambition.

Contributing, Lt, Col Emeruwa Nkere, former Assistant Director, Nigerian Army Education,commended the display of gravity and courage displayed by the young governorship candidate and his running mate, admitting that young people should be given a n in leadership of the state and Nigeria at large
