2019: VOIA visits Sports commissioner, solicit support Gov Ikpeazu re-election

A pro-group,  Vote Okezie Ikpeazu Again (VOIA), has sought for support from the Ministry of Sports to ensure the Abia governor is re-elected in 2019.

The group made this known during their recent visit to the commissioner of Sports, to intimate him of the group’s resolve to galvanise support for the governor, inorder to return him as the governor of the state, going by his numerous achievements that has surpassed past governors of the state.

Speaking during the visit, the State Coordinator of the group, Dr Uwaoma Uche, said the group was going round to intimate Abians, as well as call for support to see to it that the governor who has face lifted Abia in three years should be allowed to govern the State for another four years so that he could finish up his developmental agenda for the state.

According to the State Coordinator, the group decided to partner with the Sports Ministry because the governor has proved to be a sports lover with the ongoing renovation of the Enyimba stadium to an International standard, sponsoring of two football clubs among other development in the sports sector.

He said the governor apart from his achievements that has automatically won him a return come 2019, plays politics without bitterness, and has succeeded to be the only governor that maintains a good relationship with his predecessors as well as with members of the opposition parties.

While pleading for the commissioner’s support in mobilising VOIA members in his Isuikwuato area to attend the forth coming visit to the governor, the group revealed that they would be visiting the governor at his Umuobiaka residence in Obingwa LGA to inform him that VOIA is ready to go through all the wards and LGAs in the state, to canvass votes for him ahead of 2019.

The National coordinator of the group, Sir Ebere Nwachukwu, said the group decided to visit the Sports Ministry to consolidate their support for the governor.

Nwachukwu said the group has resolved to adopt the commissioner as a Director in the group, to contribute his quota in realising the dream of the group, as a strong supporter of the governor.

Responding, the commissioner Dr Martins Okoji, thanked the group for recognising him and making him a Director, saying he would give his full support, since the group’s aim is to return the governor.

According to Okoji,the governor deserves a resounding accolades, going by his strides in developing sporting activities in the state.

He announced that plans are on top gear to upgrade the Nsulu games village to a sports institute, stressing that the governor has a good vision for the state and that message needed to be passed to people at the Grassroot.

While applauding the group for being a formidable one, said he would give his support to ensure their aims were achieved.
