The Permanent Secretary, Government House, Umuahia, Elder Bernard Ogbonna has called the Ukwa/Ngwa women to sustain their support for Governor Okezie Ikpeazu to enable him do more for the people of the State.
Elder Ogbonna was speaking while receiving in audience, a delegation of the United Ukwa/Ngwa Women, who called on him in Government House, Umuahia.
The Permanent Secretary said that so far, the Governor has laid solid foundations in many sectors of the economy in the State through his five pillars of development, saying that Abia has now become the SMEs capital of Nigeria.
He used the opportunity to inform them that the Governor has signed a tripartite MOU with Chinese firm and Geometric Power for an uninterrupted power supply in Ariaria, Aba to enhance business
He disclosed that Abia State has been selected to harbour dry port in Ntigha, Isialangwa North, where imported goods would be cleared.
Ogbonna thanked them for the solidarity they showed the Governor their solidarity is by obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards so as to be eligible to vote the Governor again in 2019.
Earlier in her speech, the President, United Ukwa/Ngwa Women, Mrs. Uloma Nwogu said they were in his office to felicitate one of their sons, Elder Bernard Ogbonna, who was recently posted to Government House as Permanent Secretary
They urged him to bring his experience to bear in the administration of Okezie Ikpeazu.
She appreciated the giant strides of the Governor, in all parts of the State, which she described as unprecedented, encouraging him not to relent.
The United Ukwa/Ngwa Women, a social-cultural group formed to enhance the welfare of all women of Ukwa/Ngwa urged the Governor to re-contest in 2019, assuring him that they would mobilize their members to vote him en mass in the next general elections.
