2019 FIFA U-20 WORLD: Africa’s Four Representatives Emerge

The four teams that will represent Africa in the forthcoming FIFA U-20 World Cup have emerged in the on-going U-20 AFCON in Niger Republic.

Nigeria were the first team that qualified after they defeated the host, Niger Republic by a lone goal. Having drawn with South Africa and beaten Burundi the Flying Eagles qualified on seven points.

South Africa also qualified with seven points but with inferior goal difference after they piped Burundi 1-0.

In the other group, Senegal emerged tops with maximum nine points after they brushed aside Mali, Ghana and Burkina Faso.

Mail completed the African quartet with a narrow 1-0 win over Ghana.

The qualified teams will return to action on Wednesday for the semi-finals of the U-20 AFCON. Nigeria will lurk horns with Mali while Senegal take on South Africa.
