2018 FIBA Women’s World Cup: Gallant D’Tigress lose to Australia, face Turkey Today

The 2018 FIBA Women’s World Cup dunk-off on Saturday. D’Tigress of Nigeria were in action against Australia in one of Group B matches.

Though they lost 86-68 to the Australians, D’Tigress gave a good account of themselves, facing their opponents courageously.

The first two quarters were taken by the Australians 24-18 and 18-14. But the Otis Hughley coached Nigerian ladies rallied round to win the third quarter 23-21 before losing the last quarter by 23-14.

D’Tgress will hope to brighten their chances of progressing from their group when they take on Turkey, who defeated Argentina 63-37,. in their second match.In other matches South Korea lost to France 58-89 while Canada beat Greece 81-50.

Japan lost to Spain 84-71 as Puerto Rico lost 36-86 to Belgium.

Latvia narrowly lost to China 61-64 as the USA defeated Africa’s second representative Senegal 87-67.
