The dream of the Black Queens of Ghana to win the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations on home soil was dashed yesterday when they were held 1-1 by Cameroon in their last group match.
The host piped Algeria 1-0 in their first match and lost to Mali 1-2 in their second match. With only three points after two matches the Ghanaian ladies had to win Cameroon to have a chance of progressing, sadly they could not.
Therefore, Cameroon and Mali, who came from behind twice to beat Algeria 3-2 qualify for the semi-final.
