2018 Alteo CAF AWARDS: Super Falcons Safe Nigeria’s Face

Nigeria, the most populous black nation on earth would have left the 2018 CAF Awards empty handed if not for the Super Falcons, who won the Women’s National Team of the Year.

The Super Falcons won their ninth Africa Women Cup of Nation title in Ghana last year, when they defeated South Africa on penalties after full and extra time had ended goalless.

Player of the Year went to Mohamed Salah of Liverpool and Egypt. Women Player of the Year was taken by Chrestinah Thembi Kgatlana of South Africa and Houston Dash.

Achraf Hakimi of Morocco and Borussia Dortmund won the Youth Player of the Year while Herve Renard of Morocco won the Men’s Coach of the Year. Women’s Coach of the Year went to Desiree Ellis of South Africa.

Men’s National Team of the Year went to Mauritania while the Platinum Award went to His Excellency Macky Sall, the President of the Republic of Senegal. Federation President of the Year went to Fouzi Lekjaa of the Moroccan Football Federation while the Goal of the Year went to Chrestinah Thembi Kgatlana.
