200 APC, PDP MEMBERS IN OHAFIA JOIN LP.

About 200 former members of the All Progressive Party (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ohafia local government have defected to the Labour Party.



Some of the PDP stakeholders who decamped along with their supporters include former Special Assistant to former Governor on Grassroot Mobilization, Mr Kalu Paul, Ohafia PDP Woman Leader, Madam Ngozi Obuba, former PDP Director of Public Affairs, Oguelu Eke Anya (Ogutex), former PDP House of Assembly aspirant, Ukoha Anya Ojo (School Boy) and PDP former House of Assembly aspirant, Ukoha Anya Ojo were received by the state Labour Party Chairman, Mr Emmanuel Otti who handed them over to the Deputy Governor, Engr.Ikechukwu Emetu during the LP enlarged stakeholders meeting held at Amaekpu Ohafia.

Welcoming the decamped members to the LP family, the Deputy Governor commended them for the bold and rightful political decision they took.

Engr.Emetu said that by their decamping, the Labour Party will have a cosy ride to victory in 2027, unlike in 2023, it was a tough battle.

He further stated that the transformational work the Governor is doing has brightened the victory chance of the party not only in Ohafia but the entire Abia State.
He promised to convey their decision and action to the Governor, Dr. Alex Otti.

The Deputy Governor informed them that the Labour Party is a family party that accords top priority to the welfare and progress of everyone.

In his welcome speech, the Acting State Chairman, Labour Party, Sir Emmanuel Otti said that the Labour Party has become the sought bride every politician want to associate with due to good governance and infrastructure development delivery of Gov Otti.

Sir Kalu said that the Party will not have opposition in 2027 as the good works of the Governor are enough to attract members of those formerly in opposition parties to LP.

Responding onbehalf of other decampees, the PDP former woman leader, Hon Ngozi Obuba, said that they decided to join LP to join the good work of Gov Otti.
