The NEEDS Assessment Document by the Ngwa Patriots Forum has been formally launched with a charge to the Ngwa nation to exhibit actions that would show patriotism towards the growth and development of Ngwaland and Abia state in general.
Governor Ikpeazu who stated this, Friday, during the launch of the NEEDS Assessment Document/Induction Ceremony of the Ngwa Patriots Forum held in Aba, described as legendary and historic the Needs Assessment Document adding that it would greatly impact on the socio-economic development of not only the Ngwa Nation but the entire state.
The Governor while commending the Ngwa Patriots Forum for their landmark achievements said the NEEDS ASSESSMENT DOCUMENT would serve as a roadmap towards developing the Ngwa nation.
He promised to deploy the relevant resources to ensure that the recommendations contained in the book would be realized.
Ikpeazu said that the Seven Local Government Areas of Ngwaland have a shared responsibility towards building lasting legacies for the future generations of Ngwaland and urged Ndi Ngwa to be united in their common quest instead of supporting an enemy.
In his address, the President Ngwa Patriots Forum – Chief Uzoma Ihuka said the Needs Assessment Document is a technical Report of an unbiased assessment of infrastructural deficits, human and natural resources in Ngwaland with a view to direct political office holders and philanthropists on areas of comparative advantage to the people.
He said that the document has revealed some of the local government in Ngwaland that lack the necessities of live and congratulated the newly inductees with a charge to contribute towards building their fatherland.
In his speech, the chairman on the occasion and the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Federal University of Agriculture, Umudike – Prof Udo Herbert said the Ngwa Patriots Forum comprising of eminent personalities of the land has taken a step towards solving the yearning to have a think tank and data base system that will improve the human and natural resources of the people describing the document as commendable.
The PDP Governorship Candidate for next year election – Prof Uche Ikonne represented by Chief Mike Atasie revealed his preparedness to build a strong economy that will make Abians comfortable noting that the Needs Assessment Document of the Ngwa Patriots is in line with his plan when elected as the next Governor of the state.
Reviewing the document,a Senior Advocate of Nigeria- Prof Sam Erugo said the 154 pages of the Needs Assessment Document compiled by Prof Amadike Ugbogu identified areas of deficit in Ngwaland and recommended it as a working document for any group and State that wants to improve the human and natural resources of its citizens.
Responding on behalf of the newly inductees, Chief Eric Opah expressed joy for becoming a member of the Forum and promised to render selfless services in line with the visions of the Forum.
The event featured the affirmation oath by the inductees, issuance of their membership certificate by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, unveiling and launch of the Needs Assessment Document while political stakeholders, including the Chief of staff to the Governor – Chief Okey Ahiwe, the state Head of Service – Sir Onyii Wamah, technocrats, traditional Rulers and various groups witnessed the ceremony.
