Increase Budgetary Allocation For Education Sector, Cleric Tells FG

 

 

A Bishop of the Methodist Church, Dr Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha has called on the Federal Government to step up budgetry allocation for the education sector inorder to address the challenges faced especially with the incessant ASUU strikes in Nigeria.

 

Speaking shortly after he was bestowed with an Honorary Doctorate Degree of Theology award by Wesley University, Ondo State,Bishop Onuoha who is also the Governorship Candidate of African Democratic Congress, ADC in Abia State, maintained that higher institutions in the country should intensity efforts to marry skills acquisition with theory.

He further maintained that such would help graduates keep their hands busy, since the white collar jobs are not readily available.

 

While appreciating the University Management for adding another feather to his cap, Bishop Onuoha, the Co-chair interfaith dialogue forum for peace, insisted that youths who are committed with jobs, would have no time allocated to crime.

 

According to a letter signed by the University Registrar and Vice Chancellor, Bishop Onuoha was one of the personalities that received the Honorary Degree (Honoris Causa) during their Convocation ceremony held over the weekend.
