Abia Govt To Reward Deserving Ministries

As plans to encourage Abia Workers,the state government has announced its resolve to incentify Ministries that are diligent, committed and hardworking.

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, who gave the cheering news when he paid an unscheduled inspection visit to the State Secretariat, Ogurube Layout Umuahia, commended members of staff of the various Ministries for their punctuality.

According to Governor Ikpeazu, “The unscheduled visit will continue in Ministries as government is thinking towards incentifying members of staff of various Ministries. Those who are diligent and hardworking would get some amount of money at the end of the month which will serve as running cost”

He added that the criteria that will be used in selecting beneficiaries for the reward will be hardwork, commitment and dedication.

Governor Ikpeazu who noted that the old secretariat is no longer structurally healthy for civil servants directed the head of service,Sir Onyii Wamah to make alternative accommodation for the workers as government will soon commence on building a befitting structure to ensure they do their work in a conducive environment.

In his words: ”This building is not structurally healthy at all. I am contemplating many things including pulling it down .

”Our problem is what kind of makeshift arrangement can we do to accommodate staff while we try to do something. I like people working in a conducive environment”.

The Governor later paid an unscheduled visit at the Amachara Specialist Hospital where he promised to offset medical bills for nursing mothers at the maternity ward.
