Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara

100 Days in Office: Fubara’s Giant Strides on Rivers Development

As Rivers State Governor Siminalaye Fubara continues to celebrate his 100 days in office, some Rivers residents praised the governor’s pragmatic commitment, courage, prudence, and transparency demonstrated since his assumption of office and his competence shown in ensuring that projects bequeathed to him by his predecessor are completed within scheduled time in line with his continuity and consolidation agenda. Our reporters went round to sample people’s opinions on the governor’s performance in the last 100 days in office.

An elder statesman Livinggod Godswill in an interview with our reporters said in just 100 days on the saddle, the governor has brought smiles to the faces of teachers in public schools by increasing their salaries as well as the introduction of free mass transit buses for the people of the state as fuel subsidy palliative. He expressed optimism that the Port Harcourt Ring Road project if completed will among all other benefits bring effective, all inclusive administration to meet the people’s wishes and aspirations and also bring about the ease of doing business in Rivers State. He also advised the governor not to relent in his commitment to ensure that development spread across the state and calls for sustained support to all Rivers people.

Mr. Ndubuisi Ekene a businessman in Port Harcourt told our reporters that in just 100 days, the governor has demonstrated an unwary commitment to the well-being and progress of the state. Stating that his laudable achievement so far has affirmed that he has been truly and properly groomed, nurtured and mentored by one of the most outstanding leaders in the country, his excellency Nyesome Wike. He however said that the people of the state have invested their trust in the governor to provide effective government to meet their hopes and expectations.

The above notwithstanding, Some residents who spoke with our reporters said that there is no difference from the past government and that nothing has changed in the last 100 days in office. They see the administration scoring less in youth employment, health and agriculture though it is too early to conclude.
