In a press conference, the former Arsenal manager said, “They will find an extra motivation as it’s the Champions League. We know they are a strong team.

“They need to win and I don’t think there will be many changes. Perhaps certain tactical ones will be made, but we must be prepared to play against Cristiano Ronaldo, [Harry] Maguire, Bruno Fernandes, [David] De Gea and all the other great players that United has.”

STADIUM

Arsenal played in the Highbury from September 1913 to May 2006. When Arsenal could not expand the stadium, they decided to build a new one. Thus Emirate Stadium was constructed. The name is due to a sponsorship deal Arsenal signed with Emirates, an airline, which is worth around 100 million pounds. Therefore, the stadium will be officially known as the Emirate Stadium at least until 2028 and the airline will continue to be Arsenal’s shirt sponsor until 2024.  The Emirate Stadium has a capacity of 59,867.

MANAGER

After 22 years in charge of the club, Arsene Wenger was replaced by Unai Emery at the end of last Season. The 46 year old from Spain had coached clubs like Valencia, Spartak Moscow, Sevilla, and Paris Saint Germain before coming to the Emirate.

Emery won three consecutive UEFA Europa League titles with Sevila from 2014 – 2016.and two Coupe de Laliga. He also won one League Un title and two Coupe de France titles with PSG.

NEW SIGNINGS

Arsenal have been very active in the transfer market. They bought Stephan Lichtsteiner from Juventus, Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen for an undisclosed fee and Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Dortmund. Lucas Torreira joined the Gunners from Sampdoria as well as Matteo Guendouzi, who joined from Lorient.
