										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Secretary to the State Government, Prof Kenneth Kalu has Lauded the Institute of Quantity Surveyors for their determination to work with the present administration in her rebuilding agenda for the people of the state.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The SSG, who stated this when the Executive members of the Institute of Quantity Surveyors, Abia State Chapter, paid him a courtesy call at his office, maintained that the Institute remains a critical component in the massive physical and infrastructural development that is ongoing in the state.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Prof Kalu who assured them of of the government&#8217;s partnership, enjoined them to continue to support the present administration led by Governor Alex Otti which according to him has the interest of the people at heart.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>He further enjoined them not to hesitate to come up with useful ideas to help the government actualise her good vision for the state.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Secretary to the state government, Prof Kenneth Kalu has called on journalists in the state to see themselves as partners in the rebuilding agenda of the present administration.</p>

<p>Prof Kalu stated this when he received the Executive members of the NUJ who paid a courtesy visit to his office.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The SSG who maintained that the present administration ably led by Governor Alex Otti recognizes the important role journalists play in the dissemination of government&#8217;s programmes and activities, however, enjoined them to make professionalism their watchword.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Prof Kalu assured them that their request for Government assistance in completion of the NUJ secretariat and others will be made known to the Governor with a view to tackling them.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Earlier, the chairman Nigeria Union of journalists Abia state Comrade Victor Ndukwe said the essence of the visit was to congratulate the SSG on his appointment and to seek for audience through him to the governor.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Activities marking the 32nd anniversary of the state with the team &#8220;Abia Hitting The Reset Button&#8221; has commenced with press briefing by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Kenneth Kalu and the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Prince Okey Kanu.</p>
<p>Speaking at the press briefing held at the Conference Room of the office of the Secretary to the State Government, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Kenneth Kalu, called on Abians to cue into the vision of the Governor, Dr. Alex Otti to reset and rebuild Abia of our dream.</p>
<p>Prof Kalu while unveiling the activities marking this year&#8217;s Abia Anniversary disclosed that on Wednesday and Thursday, the First Lady, Mrs. Priscilla Otti will visit the less privileged and orphanage homes across the three senatorial zones of the state.</p>
<p>The Chief Scribe pointed out that on Friday, there will be jumat prayers and novelty match between the Executives and members of the state House of Assembly.</p>

<p>According to the SSG, a special anniversary Environmental Exercise, Compressive medical outreaches across the three senatorial zones in the state and a musical concert will be held on Saturday while on Sunday, August 27th, there will be a State Broadcast by the Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, followed by an Inter-Denominational church service to be conducted by Dominion City, Okpara Square, Umuahia.</p>
<p>The SSG added that there will be a special Executive Council Meeting on Monday next week while the grand finale of the event takes place on Tuesday,29th August, with an anniversary lecture by Dr. Oby Ezekwesiri as well as unveiling of a new Abia Orientation Agency at International Conference Centre, Umuahia.</p>
