										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Secretary to the Abia State Government (SSG), Prof. Kenneth Kalu, has congratulated Dame Ngozi Nwagbara, Ph.D., on her 70th birthday, describing her as a woman of exceptional virtue and a dedicated public servant.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Prof. Kalu gave the commendation during a thanksgiving service held on Sunday at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Ehimiri, Umuahia (Anglican Communion), in honour of Dame Nwagbara, who currently serves as a Commissioner in the Abia State Local Government Service Commission.</p>

<p>The SSG thanked God for His mercy and favour upon her life and prayed for continued strength, good health, and greater accomplishments. He also urged the Church and residents to remain thankful to God for the ongoing transformation in Abia State under Governor Alex Otti, while continually praying for those in leadership.</p>

<p>In her remarks, Dame Nwagbara expressed profound gratitude to God for sustaining her to the milestone age of 70, acknowledging His faithfulness and presence in her life. She said she looks forward to enjoying more fulfilling years ahead.</p>

<p>Delivering a sermon titled “Forget Not His Blessings,” the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Umuahia, Rt. Rev. Geoffrey Ibeabuchi, reminded the congregation of God’s enduring faithfulness and emphasized the importance of maintaining a heart of gratitude.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The event attracted several top government officials, including the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, Ph.D., the Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, and other dignitaries.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Mayor of Ukwa East local government Dame Ngozi Nwagbara have visited Akirika Obu Communuty in Ukwa East LGA to meet with the Army hierarchy in the barracks of Akirika Obu, along with the leadership of the community.</p>
<p>The visit was necessary to review the security situation of the community, and also to carry out on the spot assessment of the condition of the community in terms of development.</p>
<p>Speaking during the visit,the Mayor expressed her appreciation to Nigeria Army for living up to the expectations of Abia State government regarding the security of Akirika Obu community.</p>
<p>Long before now, Akirika Obu was faced with constant unending boundary disputes with their Anang neighbors of Akwa Ibom State, They are constantly attacked, sometimes their houses burnt and people killed, while also their lands forcefully acquired. This situation has subjected the people of Akirika Obu community to living in fear.</p>
<p>speaking during the visit the commander of the barrack reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Army in sustaining the peace currently enjoyed by the people of Akirika Obu.</p>
<p>Responding to the Army Commander, the council Chairman also communicated the commitment of the state government ably led by Dr Alex Otti in providing adequate support to the Nigeria Army for continued peace in the region.</p>
<p>The Mayor again paid a visit to the state primary school in the community where she met with the students and teachers.The visit provided the opportunity for the chairman to be briefed of some challenges faced by the school which the chairman promised to look into and also proffer lasting solution.</p>
<p>The head teacher addressing the Council Chairman and entourage noted the need for adequate security in the school considering the security situation of the community amongst other demands.</p>
<p>Addressing the school teachers and indigenes of the community who were present, the Mayor advised the community to provide security in the school that council will take care of the monthly salary of the personnel.</p>
<p>The Chairman of the council again addressed the people of Akirika Obu Community, charged them to continue cooperating with the Nigeria Army for sustainable peace in the community. She also advised them to always reach out to the council in case there is a challenge.</p>
<p>In a closing remark, the high Chief of the community, Mr Friday Nnah thanked the Chairman for visiting the community as it shows strong commitment of the council towards addressing the security challenges of the community. <p>Speaking at the event at the Council headquarters in Akwete Ndoki Ukwa-East LGA, Abia state recently, She also cautioned them against engaging in illegal activities that would bring disrepute to the integrity of the council and Abia state government.</p>
<p>In her words: &#8220;You must work as a team to complement the efforts of our dear Governor, Dr. Alex Otti OFR, who is known for transparency, diligence and integrity, as nothing less than these would be tolerated&#8221;.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Mayor, Ukwa-East Local Government Area (LGA), Dame Ngozi Nwagbara has congratulated Governor Alex Otti (OFR) on Friday’s judgment of the Supreme Court which affirmed him as the winner of the March 2023 governorship election in Abia state.</p>
<p>The Supreme Court earlier on Friday affirmed the election of Dr. Otti, which was earlier upheld by the tribunal and Appeal Court in the state.</p>
<p>Dame Nwagbara, in a congratulatory message from her Media Office, said the ruling by the apex court was a further affirmation that Gov. Otti and the Labour Party (LP) have the overwhelming support of Abia residents as reflected in the governorship election in 2023.</p>
<p>“On behalf of my family and the good people of Ukwa-East LGA, I joined, I join millions of our supporters to congratulate our amiable governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti on his well-deserved Supreme Court victory.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Mayor of Ukwa East Local Government Area (LGA), Abia State, Dame Ngozi Nwagbara (Ph.D) has charged youths to upscale their skills to remain economically relevant.</p>
<p>The Council Boss who stated this during the reopening of the Skill Acquisition Centre, Ohambele Ndoki, Ukwa-East LGA recently, emphasized that Governor Alex Otti of Abia state has placed a big value on Human Capital Development.</p>
<p>She also decried the level of skills deficit among young people, expressing hope that the Centre would close the huge gap.</p>
<p>Dame Nwagbara urged the teeming unemployed within Ukwa-East and its environs to take advantage of this opportunity to acquire new skills that would enhance their profitability.</p>
<p>She listed vocational courses available for enrollment to include: Catering, Sewing, Hairdressing, Plumbing, Tiling, weaving, among others, while calling on interested candidates to obtain the Entry Forms from their Traditional Rulers or Ward Councillors free of charge.</p>
<p>The Ndoki-born technocrat called on the people of Ukwa-East to continue to support Gov. 										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Mayor, Ukwa-East Local Government Area (LGA), Dame Ngozi Nwagbara (Ph.D), has congratulated the people of Ndoki for witnessing the year 2024 against all odds.</p>
<p>Dr. Nwagbara in her New Year message from her Media Office and made available to newsmen, urged Ndoki people to reflect on the lessons learned and the growth experienced in the past year.</p>
<p>She also urged Abians to embrace change, pray and support the Dr. Alex Otti&#8217;s administration, maintaining that the Abia state Governor has shown capacity within the last Seven months in office with lots of ongoing projects across the state.</p>
<p>The Ndoki-born technocrat who decried decades of underdevelopment in the area also enjoined the people of Ukwa-East to queue into the New Abia mantra, insisting that it is the only lifeline available to their people for sustainable development.</p>
<p>On the perennial electricity challenge in the area, the Ukwa-East Mayor further disclosed that concerted efforts have been put in place to ensure steady electricity supply in the LG to restore economic activities in the area.</p>
<p>Lady Nwagbara also disclosed that some of the rural roads would be graded to enhance the transportation of agricultural produce from the hinter land to where they would command good prices.</p>
