Chelsea climbed to second place on the Premier League table after securing a comfortable 2–0 victory over Burnley at Turf Moor. Pedro Neto opened the scoring in the first half, before Enzo Fernández sealed the points with a late strike two minutes from full time.

At the Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth and West Ham United played out a thrilling 2–2 draw. The Hammers raced into a two-goal lead thanks to a first-half brace from Callum Wilson, but the Cherries rallied in the second half. Marcus Tavernier converted a 69th-minute penalty, and Enes Unal struck in the 81st minute to ensure the hosts claimed a share of the spoils.

Brighton & Hove Albion mounted a comeback of their own at the Amex Stadium, defeating Brentford 2–1. Igor Thiago fired the visitors ahead from the penalty spot, but goals from Danny Welbeck and Jack Hinshelwood turned the game around for Roberto De Zerbi’s men.

Fulham left it late at Craven Cottage, needing an 84th-minute goal from Raúl Jiménez to edge past Sunderland 1–0.

Liverpool’s struggles deepened at Anfield as they suffered a shocking 0–3 defeat to Nottingham Forest. Murillo opened the scoring, with Nicolas Savona and Morgan Gibbs-White adding second-half goals to complete a humiliating result for the Reds.

Wolves’ winless run continued after Crystal Palace claimed a 2–0 win, courtesy of second-half goals from Daniel Muñoz and Yeremy Pino.

Newcastle United stunned Manchester City with a 2–1 win at St James’ Park. Harvey Barnes was the hero, scoring twice in the second half. Ruben Dias had briefly leveled the match in the 68th minute, but Barnes restored Newcastle’s lead just two minutes later.

Meanwhile, league leaders Arsenal have the opportunity to go six points clear when they face Tottenham Hotspur in the North London Derby on Sunday. Elsewhere, Leeds United will host Aston Villa, while Monday Night Football features Manchester United take on Everton at Old Trafford.

The post Premier League Review: Chelsea Win as Liverpool, Man City Stumble first appeared on National Ambassador News.

Week Nine of the English Premier League (EPL) concluded with Arsenal extending their lead at the top of the table following a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium.

Former Palace star Eberechi Eze, who joined Arsenal in a £67 million summer transfer, scored the decisive goal against his former club. The midfielder capitalized on a set-piece move — Declan Rice delivered a precise free-kick, Gabriel Magalhães headed it down, and Eze finished acrobatically to seal all three points for the Gunners.

The result sees Arsenal move four points clear at the summit with 22 points from nine matches.

At the Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth climbed to second place after first-half goals secured a comfortable 2–0 win over Nottingham Forest.

Tottenham Hotspur also maintained their strong form with a commanding 3–0 victory over Everton at the Hill Dickens Stadium. A Van de Ven brace and a late strike from Pape Matar Sarr earned Spurs all three points and moved them up to third in the standings.

Meanwhile, Manchester City missed the chance to move second after suffering a shock 1–0 defeat to Aston Villa, courtesy of a Matty Cash goal.

At Molineux, Burnley stunned Wolverhampton Wanderers with a dramatic injury-time winner from Lyle Foster, sealing a 3–2 victory after Wolves had fought back to level the scores late on.

Elsewhere, Manchester United continued their resurgence with a 4–2 win over Brighton, maintaining momentum after a slow start to the season.

However, it was a weekend to forget for Chelsea and Liverpool. Chelsea surrendered an early lead to lose 2–1 at home to Sunderland, while Liverpool suffered their fourth consecutive league defeat, falling 3–2 to Brentford in a thrilling encounter.

With Arsenal in command, the title race continues to take shape as several traditional powerhouses struggle for consistency.

Arsenal reclaimed top spot in the English Premier League (EPL) with a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Earlier in the day, Manchester City had temporarily gone top after a 2–0 win over Everton, thanks to a second-half brace from Erling Haaland.

However, Arsenal responded with a decisive performance as Leandro Trossard scored the only goal of the game just before the hour mark. The Gunners held on for all three points, opening a four-point gap over third-placed Liverpool, who host Manchester United tomorrow. This result ensures that Arsenal will remain top regardless of the outcome at Anfield.

In another major headline, Ange Postecoglou was sacked just 19 minutes after Chelsea secured a dominant 3–0 win over Nottingham Forest. The former Tottenham Hotspur boss had been in charge for just 39 days, having replaced Nuno Espírito Santo last month.

Chelsea took control early, with first-half goals from defender Josh Acheampong and winger Pedro Neto. Captain Reece James sealed the win six minutes from time. Despite Malo Gusto being sent off for a second bookable offence in the 87th minute, the Blues comfortably saw out the match.

At the American Express Community Stadium, Brighton edged Newcastle United 2–1, while Burnley defeated Leeds United 2–0 in a strong home performance.

Meanwhile, Jean-Philippe Mateta netted a hat-trick as Crystal Palace battled to a thrilling 3–3 draw with Bournemouth.

Sunderland continued Wolves’ poor run of form with a convincing 2–0 win at the Stadium of Light, further delaying the visitors’ search for their first win of the season.

Brentford substitute Fabio Carvalho struck a dramatic 93rd-minute equaliser to deny Chelsea victory in a pulsating London derby.

It was a blow for Chelsea, who had appeared on course for all three points after substitutes. Cole Palmer, levelled with a crisp first-time volley, before new signing Alejandro Garnacho teed up Moisés Caicedo to fire the visitors ahead in the 85th minute.

Brentford had deservedly led at half-time with Schade breaking the deadlock in the 35th minutes after a swift counter-attack.

Chelsea’s manager, Enzo Maresca, rested several regulars perhaps for the club’s Champions League encounter next midweek.

Bur, after the break, Chelsea increased the pressure, bringing in Reece James, Marc Cucurella and Tyrique George in place of debutant Facundo Buonanotte, fellow new arrival Jorrel Hato, and Wesley Fofana, who was making his first start following a lengthy injury layoff. Palmer’s introduction for winger Jamie Gittens early in the second half underlined the shift in approach.

The late twist leaves Brentford 12th in the table, while Chelsea are fifth after four games. They can now focus on their Champions League clash with Bayern Munich next midweek.

The post EPL: Carvalho’s Late Strike Denies Chelsea in London Derby first appeared on National Ambassador News.

Chelsea were ruthless against their former coach Graham Potter as they came from behind to thrash West Ham United 5-1 at the London Stadium.

Joao Pedro, Pedro Neto, Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo and Trevoh Chalobah were on target as the Blues claimed their first win of the season – and made it successive losses for their hosts in a largely one-sided derby.

Despite losing Palmer to a potential injury and falling behind to Lucas Paqueta’s smashing goal for the home side, Estevao, who replaced Cole Palmer, settled down to sparkle as fellow Brazilian Joao Pedro restored parity nine minutes later through a close-range header.

West Ham thought they had restored their lead through Niclas Fullkrug, but the goal was chopped off after VAR reviews showed defender Jean-Clair Todibo was marginally offside before crossing to set up the goal.

After that incident, Chelsea took charge as Neto volleyed Chelsea ahead in the 23rd minute and Fernandez tapped home Estevao’s cross 11 minutes later.

After the break, Caicedo and Chalobah scored from corners to make the score line embarrassing for the Hammers.

West Ham are now winless in six home matches and eight goals is the most they have conceded across their two opening games of a top-flight season.

The post EPL: Chelsea Crush West Ham first appeared on National Ambassador News.

Pedro Neto scored in the first half to give the UEFA Conference League champions the lead before Argentine international Enzo Fernandez confirmed victory with the second goal in the second half.

Chelsea’s opponents featured familiar foes in their former striker Oliver Giroud and former Tottenham Hotspurs goalkeeper Hugo Lloris. However, the Blues had the last laugh with the duo of Liam Delap and Dario Essugo making their Chelsea debut. Delap put up a Man of the Match performance including assisting Fernandez for the second goal.

In choosing the greatest club in Europe, most soccer fans will not look the way of Chelsea, but last Wednesday, they accomplished what no other club in Europe have achieved. By winning the UEFA Conference League, Chelsea became the first club to win every trophy in European club football.

Their victory at the Tarczyński Arena in Wroclaw, Poland did not come in a platter of gold, in fact Chelsea were 25 minutes away from defeat before Cole Palmer produced master class crosses that saw Enzo Fernandez and Nicolas Jackson score to turn the game around.

Jardon Sancho sealed victory for the English side with a sumptuous curling finish from fellow substitute Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s pass.

Moises Caicedo who looked like Victor Osimhen with his mask added the icing on the cake with a deflected effort from 20 yards.

Real Betis were all over Chelsea from the blast of the whistle and were deservedly ahead in the ninth minute when Abde Ezzalzouli fired home following a pass by Isco.

This victory makes the Blues the first team to win all five UEFA club tournaments namely the Champions League, Europa League, Conference League, Super Cup and the defunct Cup Winners’ Cup.

Chelsea thus became the first foreign team to beat a Spanish side in a final since 2002.

Paris Saint Germain’s 5-0 victory over Inter Milan is a continuation of Allianz Arena’s legacy of producing a first time winner every time it hosts the UEFA Champions League final.

This legacy dates back to 1979 European Cup final hosted at the then Olympiastradion, two teams who had never won the competition-Nottingham Forest of England and Malmo FF of Sweden. Trevor Francis headed in John Robertson’s cross in the first half of the extra time after full time had ended goalless. Nottingham Forests thus won their first European title.

Fourteen years later, the European Cup final returned to Munich with Marseille up against AC Milan. While Marseille were chasing their first European title, AC Milan were going for their fifth title. Basile Boli scored the only goal in the 44th minute as Marseille claimed their first European title.

In 1997 another first time winner emerged when German side Borussia Dortmund defeated Juventus 3-1 in Munich. The Italians were already two-time champions, so it was not surprising that the Germans won their first title. Karl-Heinz Riedle put the German side in front in the 29th minute with a low shot from inside the six yard box. Before the break, Riedle made it two when he headed in Andreas Moller’s corner kick.

Borussia Dortmund won their first Champions League title in Munich.

In the second half, Juventus’ hit man, Alessandro Del Piero came in as a substitute and pulled one back with a back-heel after a cross from the left channel by Alen Boksic to keep Juventus’ hope of a comeback alive.

In the 71st minute, 20 year-old Lars Ricken sealed the victory for Dortmund.

In the Champions League era in 2012, Chelsea took on home side, Bayern Munich, who had won the competition four times. The home side out played Chelsea but failed to convert their chances until the 83rd minute, when Thomas Muller headed Toni Kroos’ cross down, the ball bounced over Petre Cech in goal for Chelsea, hit the crossbar and entered into the net. With two minutes to the final whistle, Chelsea won their first corner of the game, which was taken by Juan Mata. Didier Drogba’s powerful header went past Manuel Neuer for Chelsea’s equalizer. Extra time ended with no goals and Chelsea had to play another penalty shootout in a Champions League final after they lost on penalties in the 2008 final to Manchester United.

Didier Drogba holding the Champions League trophy which Chelsea won for the first time in 2012 in Munich.

Chelsea won on penalties despite Juan Mata missing Chelsea’s first penalty kick.

Congratulations to PSG, the latest champions of the UEFA Champions League. Next season’s Champions League final will hold on May 30, 2026 at the Puskas Arena in Budapest, Hungary.

We are looking forward to when next the Champions League final will return to Munich and the club that will be emerging champions for the first time.

The post 2025 UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL: Munich Legacy Continues first appeared on National Ambassador News.

Chelsea have lost another opportunity of winning a silverware this season as they lost their fourth round FA Cup encounter to Brighton 2-1.

The Blues opened scoring in the 5th minute when Bart Verbruggen in goal for Brighton fumbled Cole Palmer’s cross into his own net. Chelsea’s lead lasted for only seven minutes as Georginio Rutter headed in Joel Veltman’s cross.

Three minutes to the hour mark, Rutter turned provider as Kaoru Mitoma dinked the ball over Robert Sanchez to give Brighton the lead and eventually the day.

Chelsea felt the goal should be disallowed as the ball struck Tariq Lamptey’s arm in the build-up, since there were no VAR at this round of the competition, Brighton’s goal stood.

Both clubs will meet again on Friday in the Premier League.

In other matches, Manchester City survived a huge FA Cup fourth-round scare as they came from behind to eliminate League One side, Leyton Orient.

Leyton Orient’s Jamie Donley gave his side the lead in the 16th minute when his 50-yard shot hit the bar and sailed into the net after hitting City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega.

City restored parity in the second half when Rico Lewis’ shot deflected in off new signing Abdoukodir Khusanov. The last season’s finalists pressed on and eventually took the lead 12 minutes from time through Kevin de Bruyne’s close range finish.

Bournemouth eliminated Everton 2-0 as Ipswich hammered Coventry 4-1.

Other teams that are through to the fifth round are Millwall, Preston North End, Burnley, Cardiff City, Fulham and Newcastle United.

Today, Blackburn will host Wolves as Plymouth welcome Liverpool. Aston Villa will tread tackles with Tottenham Hotspur.

The post FA CUP: Chelsea Crash Out As City, Bournemouth Progress first appeared on National Ambassador News.

Manchester City leapfrogged Chelsea into the top four with a 3-1 victory over the Blues at Stamford Bridge.

Noni Madueke gave Chelsea a third minute lead, but the home side failed to consolidate on their lead until Josko Gvardiol equalized three minutes to the break.

After the break, Erling Haaland scored his 18th league goal of the season as he capitalized on the error of Chelsea goalkeeper Sanchez to chip the ball into the net.

Chelsea, who had lost their opening day match of this season to Manchester City could not find the equalizer, rather Phil Foden put the icing on the cake with City’s third goal.

With this defeat, Chelsea are without a win in 11 meetings with Manchester City.

In other matches, Bournemouth derived enough vitality from the Vitality Stadium to spank third-placed Nottingham Forest 5-0 as Everton shocked Brighton 1-0 at the American Express Stadium.

League leaders Liverpool sustained the momentum with a 4-1 victory over Ipswich Town as bottom placed Southampton were beaten 3-1 by visiting Newcastle United.

Arsenal maintained their second place after a laborious 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Action will continue on Sunday when Crystal Palace host Brentford as Tottenham Hotspurs host Leicester City.

Graham Potter won his first match as West Ham manager after defeating Fulham 3-2 in a thrilling encounter.

Carlos Soler capitalized on a lose pass to curl home Hammers first goal in the 31st minute. The home side made it two moments later as a long ball found Aaron Wan-bissaka, whose cut-back allowed Tomas Soucek to flick into the roof of the net.

After the break, Raul Jimenez hit the bar before Nigeria international, Alex Iwobi reduced the deficit six minutes into the second half.

Lucas Paqueta restored West Ham’s two-goal advantage after Danny Ings forced Fulham’s goalkeeper, Bernd Leno into an error.

Alex Iwobi ensured a nervy end to the match when he scored another goal for Fulham. However, West Ham held on to secure their first win under Potter.

This victory moved West Ham United to 12th on the log while Fulham are now ninth.

In other encounters, Nottingham Forest moved to second place on the table after securing a 1-1 draw against leaders Liverpool.

Forest, who were chasing a seventh successive league win for the first time in over 100 years took the lead after eight minutes when Chris Wood scored through Anthony Elanga’s pass.

Recall that Forest were the only side to defeat Liverpool in the league this season and were hoping to make it a double over their more illustrious opponents, but Arne Slot’s second half substitutes made the difference as Diogo Jota spent only 22 seconds on the pitch before heading in the equalizer through the corner of Kostas Tsimikas, who was also a second half substitute.

Liverpool remain on top of the table with 47 points and a game in hand and are six points above Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

Defending champions Manchester City threw away a two goal lead to draw 2-2 at Brentford.

The citizens led through Phil Foden’s second half brace, but the Bees fought back and got a point for their doggedness as Yoane Wissa and Christian Norgard scored to dent City’s quest for a fifth successive Premier League title.

Chelsea skipper, Reece James marked his return to the Premier League after long lay-off due to injury with a stoppage time equalizer against Bournemouth at the Stamford Bridge.

Cole Palmer gave the home side the lead in the 13th minute, but against the run of play, the Cherries found an equalizer in a platter of gold when Moises Caicedo fouled Antoine Semenyo in the penalty area. Justin Kluivert buried his sixth penalty of the season.

West Ham United have confirmed former Brighton and Chelsea manager Graham Potter as their new manager.

This is coming on the heels of the sacking of Julen Lopetegui on Wednesday after just six months in charge. The Spaniard was appointed in May following the departure of David Moyes, but officially took charge on July 1.

Saturday’s 4-1 defeat to Manchester City was the straw that broke the camel’s back and was the ninth defeat in 20 league games this season. It has left the club 14th and seven points above relegation zone.

Graham Potter signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Hammers. His baptism of fire will be an FA Cup third round game at Aston Villa on Friday.

“I am delighted to be here.” Potter told the club’s website, “It was important to me that I waited until a job came along that I felt was right for me, and equally that I was the right fit for the club I am joining. That is the feeling I have with West Ham United.”

The post West Ham Confirm Potter As New Manager first appeared on National Ambassador News.

Erling Haaland scored his first brace in three months as Manchester City followed their victory over Leicester City last weekend with a comprehensive 4-1 victory over West Ham United.

Savinho forced the first goal when his 10th minute cross deflected off Vladmir Coufal into the net.

Haaland grabbed a brace before Phil Foden tapped home Kevin de Bruyne’s through pass.

Niclas Fulkrug scored West Ham’s consolatory goal 19 minutes from time.

Despite the victory, the defending champions are still sixth on the table and 11 points behind leaders, Liverpool.

In other matches, Alexander Isak scored the winning goal as Newcastle United came from behind to inflict another home defeat on Tottenham Hotspur.

Dominic Solanke headed in Pedro Porro’s cross to give the home side an early lead. But, Anthony Gordon restored parity two minutes later.

Spurs played better in the second half but could not get the equalizer.

Bournemouth fought extremely hard to defeat Everton by a lone goal at the Vitality Stadium. David Brooks scored the only goal of the match as the Cherries move one point behind Manchester City.

Leon Baily broke the hearts of Leicester City fans as his 78th minute first goal of the season condemned the Foxes to a fifth straight Premier League defeat.

Ross Barkley’s 58th minute strike gave Unai Emery’s side the lead, but, Stephy Mavididi restored parity before Baily’s heartbreaking goal.

Brentford overcame their loss to Arsenal last weekend to white-wash bottom placed Southampton 5-0 with Bryan Mbeumo grabbing a brace.

Chelsea’s winless run was extended to four games after they drew 1-1 at Crystal Palace.

Cole Palmer put the Blues in front in the 14th minute, but Palace equalized through Jean-Philippe Mateta late into the game to deny Chelsea the three point.

It was a similar scenario in Arsenal’s game against Brighton at the Amex Stadium.

Seventeen year-old Ethan Nwaneri gave Arsenal the lead in the 16th minute, but Joao Pedro scored a second-half penalty to ensure that Brighton got a point.

Liverpool are now seven points clear of second-placed Chelsea despite having one game in hand, after coming from behind to defeat Leicester City 3-1.

Jordan Ayew put the visitors in front in the sixth minute, but Liverpool equalized through Cody Gakpo just before halftime.

Curtis Jones, making his 100th Premier League appearance, put the Reds ahead in the 49th minute before Mohamed Salah sealed the victory with a goal eight minutes from time. This triumph came in the wake of Chelsea losing at home to Fulham.

The tension was palpable at Stamford Bridge after substitute Rodrigo Muniz scored the winner, as Fulham came from behind to claim a 2-1 victory over their neighbors. Cole Palmer had given the Blues an early lead with a sublime strike in the 16th minute, but Chelsea failed to close out the game. Eight minutes before the end, Harry Wilson equalized for Fulham, and as Chelsea pressed forward to restore their lead, they conceded again.

Ten-man Manchester United were once again disjointed and overwhelmed by Wolves at Molineux. The trouble began when Bruno Fernandes was sent off in the 47th minute for a second yellow card.

Eleven minutes later, Matheus Cunha scored from a corner kick—eerily similar to Son Heung-min’s goal against the Red Devils a week earlier. As United pushed for an equalizer, they were caught out on a counterattack, with Hwang Hee-Chan scoring Wolves’ second goal seconds before the final whistle.

United are now languishing in 14th place with just 22 points from 18 matches.

In the first action of the day, Erling Haaland missed a penalty as Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by Everton at the Etihad Stadium.

Bernardo Silva latched onto Jeremy Doku’s pass to put the home side ahead in the 14th minute. Everton restored parity with their first clear-cut chance, through Iliman Ndiaye in the 36th minute.

Seven minutes into the second half, Vitalii Mykolenko brought down Savinho inside the penalty area, but Jordan Pickford saved Haaland’s penalty to ensure the match ended in a draw.

Bournemouth and Crystal Palace played out a goalless draw at the Vitality Stadium, while goals from Anthony Gordon, Alexander Isak, and Joelinton gave Newcastle United a comfortable 3-0 victory over 10-man Aston Villa, who had Jhon Durán sent off in the 32nd minute.

Nottingham Forest climbed to third place on the table after Anthony Elanga’s solitary strike secured all three points against Tottenham Hotspur. Similarly, Jarrod Bowen scored the only goal as West Ham United defeated Southampton.

The post BOXING DAY ACTION: Liverpool Extend Lead As Chelsea, Man United Stumble first appeared on National Ambassador News.

Liverpool will remain top of the Premier League into the hectic festive fixtures as they defeated Tottenham Hotspur 6-3 in one of the Week 17 matches of the English Premier League.

Chelsea were expected to leapfrog Liverpool, at least temporarily, but the Blues failed to defeat Everton at Goodison Park, as the game ended goalless, leaving Liverpool on top, even before their clash with Spurs. With this victory, Liverpool are now four points clear, with an outstanding match.

Liverpool scored three goals in each half, with Luis Diaz, Mac Allister, and Szoboszlai scoring before the break.

After the break, Mohamed Salah scored a brace, before Diaz put the icing on the cake with his second of the night.

James Maddison, Kulusevski, and Solanke scored for Spurs.

Earlier, Bournemouth turned the Theatre of Dreams into a Theatre of Nightmares as they thrashed Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United 3-0. Dean Huijsen opened the scoring for the visitors in the 29th minute.

Kluivert doubled Bournemouth’s lead with a penalty on the hour mark, before Semenyo completed the routing two minutes later.

Wolves’ new manager, Vitor Pereira, started his reign with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. Gonçalo Guedes, Rodrigo Gomes, and Matheus Cunha all scored a goal each in the first half to ensure their new manager started on a winning note.

Fulham and Southampton, like the game between Everton and Chelsea, ended in a goalless draw.

The post EPL: Liverpool Crush Spurs to Remain Top first appeared on National Ambassador News.

Chelsea came from two goals down to defeat Tottenham Hotspur 3-4 to go second and four points behind leaders, Liverpool.

Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski gave the home side a 2-0 lead as early as the 11th minute. But Chelsea pulled one back through Jadon Sancho in the 17th minute.

Chelsea took over after the break scoring three goals, as Cole Palmer restored parity from the penalty spot on the hour mark before Enzo Fernandez scored to put Chelsea in front for the first time in the game.

Palmer converted another penalty to give the Blues a two goal advantage.

Son Heung-Min scored the third in a late comeback fight, but Chelsea held on to take all three points.

Recall that Liverpool did not play this weekend as their game with Everton was postponed due to weather conditions.

In today’s other matches, Arsenal came from behind to draw 1-1 with Fulham at the Craven Cottage, as Ipswich threw away a lone goal lead to lose 1-2 to Bournemouth.

Leicester City put up a king’s fight at the King Power Stadium to come from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Brighton.

The post EPL: Chelsea Move to Second Place After Beating Spurs first appeared on National Ambassador News.

The star match of this weekend between the London Derby between Chelsea and Arsenal ended in a 1-1 draw, which left both teams in the top four with 19 points respectively.

The first half ended goalless despite both sides fielding their star players. Cole Palmer returned for Chelsea as Arsenal captain, Martin Odegaard played all 90 minutes for the Gunners.

The visitors Arsenal drew the first blood through Gabriel Martinelli on the hour mark. But, Chelsea restored parity 10 minutes later when Pedro Neto fired the ball into the bottom corner with a textbook strike from outside the box.

Both sides missed a lot of chances which would have handed all three points to either side. Having shared the spoil, the head into the international break nine points adrift of leaders Liverpool and four points behind second placed Manchester City.

Earlier today, Manchester United continued their fine run under interim coach Ruud van Nistelrooy with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Leicester City, whom they had earlier beaten 5-2 in the Carabao Cup.

Playing at the Theatre of Dreams, United needed only 17 minutes to find the back of the net through Bruno Fernandes. Victor Kristiansen’s own goal made it two in the 38th minute bfore Alejandro Garnacho put the icing on the cake eight minutes to full time.

Liverpool, this afternoon, disunited Manchester United 3-0 in the last match of the week three of the English Premier League at Old Trafford.

United came into the game hoping to avoid a second consecutive defeat this season haven lost 2-1 to Brighton last weekend. They started like a house on fire but lacked the finishing touch that could really disturb Alison in goal for Liverpool.

Gradually, Liverpool grew into the game and started making more dangerous incursions into the vital area of their host. Trent Alexander-Arnold thought he had scored the opening goal when his shot from inside the box was adjudged to have crossed the goal line, but was cancelled for off-side after VAR review.

Unfortunately, the Red Devils failed to see the warning sign as two errors by Casemiro allowed Luis Diaz to score a brace before the break.

Manchester United did not lay a glove on Liverpool in the second half as Mohamed Salah put the icing on the cake with the third goal.

Liverpool remain the only team yet to concede a goal this season after defeating Ipswich Town and Brentford 2-0 respectively in their first two matches.

Earlier today, Chelsea were forced to a 1-1 draw by Crystal Palace while Newcastle United defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-1.

On Saturday, 10-man Arsenal played out a 1-1 draw with Brighton as Brentford stung Southampton 3-1.

Everton threw away a 2-1 lead to lose 2-3 to Bournemouth as Ipswich and Fulham settled for a 1-1 draw.

Aston Villa vanquished Leicester City 2-1 at the King Power Stadium while Nottingham and Wolves ended their encounter 1-1.

Defending champions, Manchester City maintained their lead on the table with a 3-1 victory over West Ham.

The post EPL: Liverpool Disunite Manchester United first appeared on National Ambassador News.

The English Premier League enters week three this weekend with mouth-watering fixtures.

Gunners Tackle Brighton

Arsenal will welcome Brighton, who are still basking in the euphoria of their 2-1 victory over Manchester United to the Emirate Stadium. Both sides have won their opening two matches. It will be a cracker.

Victory for Arsenal in this game would see them win their opening three Premier League games in a season for a second time under Mikel Arteta. The first being the 2022/23 season, which would be as many times as they did prior to his arrival as manager, in 2003/04 and 2004/05 under Arsene Wenger.

For the third time in the last four seasons, Brighton have won their opening two Premier League matches. The Seagulls have not won their opening three league games in a season since 2011/12 and will be willing to do so if Arsenal stumble.

Brentford Host Southampton

The G Tech Stadium will come alive when Brentford take on Southampton who are yet to pick a point this season. The Bees will be hoping to avoid a consecutive defeat having lost their last match 2-0 to Liverpool.

Brentford have won their last three Premier League games against Southampton without conceding, winning both home games against Saints by a 3-0 score line.

Southampton, on their part, won both of their league games in London in the Championship last season, 1-0 against Millwall and QPR. However, in the Premier League they have won just one of their last eight visits to the capital, beating Chelsea 1-0 in February 2023.

Everton Seek For Inspiration At Home Against Bournemouth

Everton will seek for their first win of the season when they welcome Bournemouth to the Goodison Park. The Cherries on their part have drawn their previous two matches.

Everton have won six of their seven Premier League home games against Bournemouth, with the exception being a 3 1 defeat on the final day of the 2019/20 campaign.

Ipswich Take on Iwobi’s Fulham

The EPL is not a stroll in the park. After losing their first two matches, Ipswich Town will definitely agree with that statement. Nevertheless, they will take on Fulham at the Portman Road as they fight on for their first point.

The only previous Premier League meetings between Ipswich and Fulham were in the 2001/02 campaign, with the Tractor Boys remaining unbeaten against the Cottagers back then.

Ndidi’s Leicester City Confront Aston Villa

2016 champions, Leicester City will be anxious for their first win of the season when they lurk horns with Aston Villa, who were humbled 2 0 by Arsenal last weekend. The 2016 champions will be counting on their inspirational captain Jamie Verdy to orchestrate proceedings.

Vardy has been involved in 98 Premier League goals at the King Power Stadium, 71 goals and 27 assists, scoring their equaliser on Match Day 1 against Spurs. Vardy is looking to become the 14th player to have 100+ goal involvements at a single venue. Since 2014/15 only Mo Salah at Anfield, 128 and Kevin De Bruyne at the Etihad, 111 have more goals and assists at a venue than Vardy at the King Power.

Toothless Wolves Seek to Devour Nottingham Forests

Wolves were thoroughly beaten last weekend by Chelsea, but will be hoping to return to winning ways when they visit the City Ground to take on Nottingham Forests.

Nottingham have won just one of their last 11 league games against Wolves, beating them 2-0 at Molineux in January 2018. Each of the last three league meetings between the sides has ended in a draw

West Ham Dare to Harm Manchester City

West Ham United will attempt to halt the rampaging defending champions, Manchester City, who have scored six goals in two matches, when they welcome them to the London Stadium.

West Ham are winless in their last 17 Premier League meetings with Manchester City, since a 2-1 away win in September 2015. Can they hammers bring this long losing streak to an end?

Chelsea Lurk Horns With Crystal Palace

Basking in the euphoria of their 6-2 crushing of Wolves, Chelsea will take on Crystal Palace, who are yet to get a point this season.

The Blues have won each of their last 13 Premier League games against Crystal Palace. Only Manchester City, a current run of 14 against Bournemouth, have ever had a longer winning run against an opponent in English Football League history.

Newcastle, Tottenham Battle for Supremacy

It’s going to be a do-or-die affair when Newcastle United tread tackles with Tottenham Hotspur at the Saint James’ Park. Newcastle drew 1-1 with Bournemouth while Spurs hammer Everton 4-0 last weekend.

Tottenham have lost their last two Premier League away games against Newcastle by an aggregate score of 10-1. They have only lost two of their previous 11 such visits to Saint James’ Park.

Manchester United Confront Liverpool

The star match of the weekend will take place at the Old Trafford between arch-rivals, Manchester United and Liverpool. United must put behind their loss to Brighton last weekend as they welcome Liverpool to the Theatre of Dreams. Liverpool are yet to lose a match this season and will want to turn the Theatre of Dreams into Theatre of Nightmare if Eric Ten Hag and his boys fail to ensure that Liverpool walk alone at the Old Trafford.

Manchester United have won just one of their last 12 Premier League meetings with Liverpool, beating them 2-1 at Old Trafford in their third game of the 2022/23 campaign. Are we going to have a repeat of history on Sunday?
